no AC heat only, vacuum controlled valve unsure but I don't think so. The engine temp stays consistent regular temp, on long highway drive trips (3 hours or more) it can get quite high on hills and can get consistently warm and has to be monitored.

New to cars ish, and just wanted to verify a hunch, I get interior heat rarely, and when I do there really isn't a constant that follows. Its a 74 dart swinger with 225 slant 6 in it, Im assuming it would be the thermostat causing this?

Turning the key never was difficult, it seems though the pin itself after the spring got weak falls out of place (just below) so it won't engage and just spins freely.

Yeah its still drum and manual steering, I have loved the experience of driving these old school mechanisms, very nostalgic indeed. Upgrading it though may be an asset considering this car drives year round, it would be nice in winter to have a little more consistent of a braking system...

Ok so I have replaced the trunk Lock assembly in the past and discovered it was from the spring in the mechanism being too weak and stretching. Not longer then a few months later with the brand new mechanism, the spring again stretched and left me crawling through the back seat cross bars...

So far all the vacuum tests have come through successful. We are going to blow the sock filter out and see if that does the trick. :) (and the fuzzy skull dice stay :P )

har har, I better remove them dice right away and commence with operation virgin statue ;). A friend with a vacum tester etc will be coming by today and we will be running a bunch of the tests. Will report back as we start getting results :) Nice to have a few days off to get things figured...

I have a 1974 dart with a slant 6 in it. Im going through the manuals and see that there is a possibility of there being 2 fuel filters. I know there is the inline filter, is there the second one in the fuel pump at this age?

Im not sure how the pump is, as far as I know its ok. I believe the screw is turned back a bit. I had stall out issues after it was put on the road and the mechanic had to readjust it now and then to bring the idle back up. He then disconnected a small hose on the carb and the stalling issue...

so as im progressing with getting this car fully road ready im replacing the shocks on the front and back... I was able to get coil overs for the rear, but cannot seem to get any upgraded shocks for the front, any idea if there is any better ones avaliable out there thats worth the hunt?

nope I kept the fluid.. if its fine, then ill leave it.. not really wanting to drop the pan and drain the torque converter if I dont need too..:D
