    Connecting Rod Mystery

Well, I got into my '72 318 and discovered a bit of a mystery. The connecting rod casting numbers are 3418635 which, to my best knowlege, are press fit rods from 74-up 318s and all 360s. What is even more of a mystery is that these rods have floating pins. There is a bushing in the small end...

    Valve Springs

I am installing a Mopar Purple Cam P4452759 (0.430/0.450). I have a few questions regarding the springs. The recommended spring is P4286813. Can I use the stock retainers and keepers?

    Cam Selection

I have a rebuilt t-quad that I got off of e-bay. The thing is in awsome shape. I pulled it apart to make sure that the internals were OK and it looks good. I like the t-quad because the small primaries allow decent mileage while the HUGE secondaries will flow whatever the 318 could possibly...

    Cam Selection

I am planning to keep the stock pistons. Will the Comp Cam 262H work from a piston/valve clearance standpoint? Duration @ 0.05 Lift Lobe Sep Ang Int Exh Int Exh Int Exh 262 270 218 224 0.462 0.470 110

    Cam Selection

It is a '72 Scamp with stock converter and rear (7 1/4 POS and I do mean POS vs posi ). Not sure of the rear gears. I am looking for 1000-4500 performance on a budget.

    Cam Selection

Edelbrock Performer and a thermoquad carb (e-bay specials!). Looking into TTI 1 5/8 headers but may end up keeping stock exhaust manifolds due to cost. Either way there will be a dual 2 1/2 exhaust with an H-pipe.

    Cam Selection

I am planning a mild rebuild of a 318. Headers, intake, carb and cam. I plan to keep the stock pistons and heads. Yeah, I know, stock 318 heads suck. It's a $$ issue. Anyway, I am stuck on the cam choice between the vfollowing 2 cams. Duration @ 0.05 Lift Lobe...

    Hood Clearance

The dyno results from the mag article. I don't think that I am departing much from what they did. The intake will be either an Edelbrock Performer or, like the article, a Mopar Perf M1 dual plane. Everything else is the same. They started with a rema Recon 318 longblock though and I don't know...

    Hood Clearance

I am starting a rebuild on a 318 in my 72 Scamp. I have a few questions 1) How much taller is an Edelbrock Performer manifold than the stock 2bbl manifold? Will I have hood clearance issues? I plan to use a thermoquad that I picked up. 2) The work that I am planning is the same that was done...
