I have posted an ebay auction for this car. It is extremely clean and solid, including baseboards, frame, trunk, etc.
Here's the eBay auction link:

Thanks for commenting. It really is probably a steal based on what I have seen out there. I've been keeping track of gas mileage and get about 21 average. The car is a great driver and I have been using it that way about 3 days a week since last spring. It just goes and goes and goes.
1972 Dodge Dart 4 Door Sedan, 225 c.i. Slant Six, column-shift three speed with only 45,000 ORIGINAL miles.
I bought this car about a year ago from a guy who found it six years previously. It had been well taken care of but had been sitting for quite some time when he bought it. So he did the...

If my thermal sensor (on the air cleaner) is not opening the little trap door when it's closed, are there replacements out there? Can it be removed and fixed? Any tips or suggestions are most welcome.
Dan- if I upgrade to the 73 manifold as I'm thinking I'll do, and convert to Electronic Choke - would my kit be 1231?
In that post it says: "For all slant-6 applications with 1bbl carb from 1960 through 1972, the kit number is 1231."
I have a 1bbl carb for 72. Why did you recommend 1233...
Dan, thanks. Always great advice. I got the gaskets you had recommended in another thread - from Australia. So I think I'm good there. I sent a PM on the manifold. I think I'll do the upgrade on this thing and put a new one in there.
All,
I have finally acquired the right gaskets for my manifold-to-head and -to-intake. Quick question - I plan to use the factory service manual to do the job, but are there any tips/tricks with respect to the carburetor? Does it basically just unplug from the hoses and unbolt? Am I...
Thanks all for the advice. I actually learned a lot about a few other things I need to do anyway like the clutch adjustment. Turns out it was a hose that came loose under the aircleaner. I'm not sure what that's called that it's attached to, but I stopped for gas this morning and finally had...
Thanks. Had to laugh on the rattler comment. Let's hope it's not that. Although that rattler dies down after the key is pulled.
I'll check it out more thoroughly this weekend. Anyone have simple instructions on the clutch adjustment?
So just recently, as in last evening, I have a noticable hissing sound coming from what sounds like right in front of the dash/firewall - although I can't confirm location.
When I have heard this in other cars it usually means my brake booster is going. Trouble is with this car I have no...
Hey thanks for the help here. Looks like I have my Thanksgiving project now. Just need to buy the beer. I bought both gasket kits and will give it a shot.
I have a 72 base Dart, 4 door, slant six, NO options. No PS, A/C, etc. Very stripped down model. I'm getting water in the car on driver and passenger side from under the dash in heavy prolonged downpours.
I'm going to try to seal the windshield first and see if that works. But I'm...
Thanks. Yes it is just a stock AM one speaker radio. Not really a big deal if I don't fix it - the slant six sings it's own tunes. But, I did do what you said and still no sound. I get power into it, but nothing out the speaker.
Ok - I pulled my stock AM radio after it cut out about 5 months ago. It's getting power just fine to the set, and even inside it there is power registering. But no sound. I'm thinking it could be the speaker - although I'm not sure why it would be (it only had 39k miles when I bought it, and...
All - I have a base 1972 Dart. Slant 6, 225c.i.
I drive it about 3 days a week into work, and it runs like a top. It had 39k original miles on it when I bought it. Near mint interior, trunk, etc. Engline-wise, my previous owner had just done a valve job and tune-up.
Now when I'm driving I...
Hi all. I purchased a radiator recently that was higher capacity and for an A/C car (not realizing that part). Is there any issue with installing this in a non-a/c car? It's a slant 6, base model, no A/C no nuthin. Any issues here or do I just now have more cooling capacity?
One other question. I'm presuming I can use this radiator:
Radiator
Proliance Intl/Ready-Aire Radiator - w/ Heavy Duty Cooling; w/ Air Conditioning
Even though I don't have A/C?
I guess I could. Just seems like a new one is relatively inexpensive, time is money, blah blah blah. I want to have confidence in my cooling system this summer, and it seems like for around $250 at Parts Geek I can replace it all.
All - any thoughts on the best quality yet value on a replacement radiator? Looking for as stock as possible but perhaps some upgrades.
Beyond that, my engine is now running hot when I stop in traffic. That had not been happening. Admittedly it is now in the 90's around here, but I'm...
So, three questions here:
1) Anyone know how I can match the green dash pad on my 72 Dart with some vinyl dye? Any manufacturers out there with either spray-on or brushable stuff? I used to use World Upholstery on my Mercedes, but they apparently don't do domestic.
2) Where's the exterior...
All. So, I took it to a local car wash, removed the antenna and next day the radio is kind of fainter - but still there. Then it just cuts out entirely. I can still hear it just very faintly. Any suggestions? I vaccumed the top of the antenna and can only surmise that in my taking off the...
You all know of any good mechanics you trust up here in Northern VA, particularly around Ashburn, that could do some work on my Dart? I'd like to have them do the front suspension refresh if I find someone I trust. Or atleast have them in reserve if I totally fubar it.
Ok, so if I get this right, they bolted the seats THROUGH the bottom of the car. When I take them out, I may just replace the hardware anyway. But when I re-insert, should I put some type of caulking there, silicone or something?
