"Fun" with adjustable rockers and hydraulic lifters

They're lock-nut style. I'll have to track down some pushrods then... :/

    273 power? HOW?

I've got an aluminum 4bbl Edelbrock SP2-P intake that I just pulled and had tanked at a machine shop. It's got intake ports that are great for a 273 or 318 velocity-wise, and it's got mounting provisions for spread-bore carburetors or square bore carburetors with a small, commercially available...

"Fun" with adjustable rockers and hydraulic lifters

A friend of mine told me something similar over the phone last night. Someone on Allpar suggested shimming the rocker shaft up a short distance. I'm going to look for shims, and if I can't find the kind I'd like then I'll try to find grade-5 washers that have the right inner and outer...

    moderate 360 build

Oh, and as for building an '80 360 motor with the stock crank/rods/springs, remember, your compression is VERY low in that engine. 8.4:1 (or at least my '78 360 was), so you're saddled with that from the get-go. Granted, replacing pistons and/or rods gets expensive, especially when you've got...

    moderate 360 build

I ran the XE262H with stock springs for awhile, but they suggest that anything over the 260 cams (all lines) really need aftermarket springs. They're not all that expensive. Comp Cams actually sells springs for their cams.

    head question about the 302's

Keep in mind that the 308s are open chamber. They're also HARD to find without cracks between the valve seats on the chambers on the ends. I went through several, each time the machine shop calling to tell me that they were cracked, before I gave up and went to Edelbrock for heads. I've heard...

"Fun" with adjustable rockers and hydraulic lifters

Hey, nice forum... I'm building a 408 stroker motor for my Cordoba out of a 360, and having gone through a rather large rigamarole I'm nearly done assembling the thing. When I was talking to Edelbrock about the aluminum heads they strongly recommended adjustable rockers. I found a set at the...
