    Finally got the 318 out of the 72 more door and stuck the 360 (1985 block) into the engine bay. Used Schumacher mounts and the original transmission. Now, here's the rub. Using all the same pieces off my 318, I CANNOT get the fan/fan clutch into place....I need another inch between the water...

    Belt routing

    Saw an old thread about belt routing. Thought I would share a "special" one that the PO did on my 318. I can say it was somewhat effective....belts are pretty much aligned. I am not putting it back into use. sb

    Edelbrock Performer cam

    I did some searching, but to no avail....anyone running the edelbrock #2177 cam? If not, thoughts. Mine: Small duration cam, seems it would be real torquey. sb edit: fixed the part number

    Frickin' timing chain

    Just stabbed a distributor and remounted a carb on a little 318 in my Dart. Started right up, but runs like caca. So, vacuum gauge shows low and slightly erratic needle at about 11-13 in Hg. Pull the distributor cap. I can turn the crank more than 20* before the distributor rotor even budges...
