I wouldn't worry too much about how many hours, everyone works at their own pace. Pick a starting point and begin, if your frustration level starts to rise step away. Take time to let your frustration level dies down and begin again.

As the old commercial used to say, "a little dab will do you". I put a small dot on the base of the threads and spin it to distribute the thread sealer. I've been doing this for decades and have never had a problem.

Chrome plating went through the roof when the EPA got really stringent about the waste disposal years ago. There were some unscrupulous shops that were just dumping the waste and got caught. Now all of the shops and the customers are paying the price.

There used to be a company Mr. G's plastic plating. I think he sold the business, but check it out because someone took it over. I looked and they are still in business. They are not cheap, but they did an excellent job for me some years back.

All 3 8 3/4 cases used different diameter pinions, check the FSM.

The car needs to be sitting at ride height, all weight on the suspension. I tacked mine in just enough to hold them and then raised the car to finish weld them.

Is it magnetic, or just non-slip rubber on the under side?

The cable should have a cone shaped rubber grommet on it and you should be able to tell which hole it goes into by the OD of said grommet.

Is the door or glove box key the same as the trunk? If so, take one of the locks to a "good" locksmith and they can impression a key for you.
