Bought another Fluke meter off ebay

I have something like 5 Fluke meters, all sooty, smelly and variously damaged after the house fire. My FIRST Fluke I ever had I bought new back in the '90's when I went to work for the Motorola outfit. I don't remember, I think I paid over 300 bucks, a Fluke 73-III. The thing got wet...

A scathing review of a POS and dangerous Klein tester

My best Fluke may not make it. It powers up with a new battery, but it was somewhat warm, and the battery leaked. The others I have in the basement are "smokey." So I thought I'd buy an inexpensive tester to get by until I get something better, or see about getting the Flukes cleaned...

A tiny bright spot in the house fire escapade

The other day I found my new camera, slightly smelly, in a DRY bag. Canon 5D Mk IV. AND the old Dakota often refuses to shift. Sometimes it defaults to limp mode (3rd gear) or locks up in 1st and refuses to shift out. Like yesterday, going to and from the dump, lol ANYWAY...

The AR club, that is. I have been thinking of building 1 or 2 from so called "80% lowers" But I figured since I have no experience with an AR, I should AT LEAST have one made by someone as a starting point so I know what is "right" shall we say. For some reason I got a ?? up my...

A minor screw up on my part, LOL

I have an old recliner which is basically "where I live" when sat down in the house. I guess about year and a half ago I damaged the foot gear such that it's a struggle to get the thing folded back in. I got tired of messin with that so today I dumped it upside down and looked it all...

I'm not that old but I've seen

Just thinking the other day. I'm not very active on amateur radio anymore, but I first got interested in radio/ electronics around 1960, a bit more serious around 62-63, and got my amateur novice license when I was a sophmore/ junior in about 65. I've seen electronics go from vacuum...

I spose most of you are aware, but the once "standard" rating of the 5V spec for USB cables got trashed early on. I think it was originally 1/2 amp, don't remember. I had bought an off brand kit off egag of 2 batteries and charger for one of my cameras to have some sort of spares...
