    Lets build a new engine.

Lets build an engine for my dart. Heres the rules. 91 pump gas. 360 factory block. MSD Digital 7+ 6-71 roots supercharger. I want as wild as we can get while still being able to drive to breakfast on Sunday with the women. Edit- the car currently has a built 904, 3,800 stall, Ford 9" with...

Im thinking about buying a new ignition box for the blown small block build and want some imput on the fancy new boxes out there. I like the fact that the 7 has boost retard bit that about all i would know how to use on it. For a boosted application do you think its worth stepping up from my...

Splayed main caps on a 360?

What are your thoughts on adding the 4 bolt caps to my small block blower build? 7-10 pounds of boost, hopefully making right around 600 HP at the crank. Some say it removes strength in an already weak area some say it helps. I dont plan on turning much over 6,000 RPM. thoughts?

    6-71 small block build.

It begins! @Coyote Jack I'm ready to order the blower kit and need some advice on what pulleys to get. I'm going with the Dyers street/strip kit if that makes a difference? 8mill belt or 1/2" tooth? 2 or 3" belt? I'd like a pulley combo that is close in tooth count so I can start out with...

    360 boost pistons?

I'm looking for some forged pistons that will put me at 8-1 or so. Any ideas? Valve pockets would be nice and a lowered top ring is ideal. My plans are 10-15 pounds of boost with some N2o. Now this is a cheep build so we can't go crazy with full custom pistons I know its gonna let go but...

    Holley quick change float bowls?

Anyone use these? Carburetor Fuel Bowls - Quick-Change Jet Provisions I like the idea but wonder about how well it actually works? Seems like the jets would just fall into the bowl and I'd ha e to remove the bowl anyway? Seeing as the jets are non magnetic what keeps them from just falling...

    432 vs 360

Looks like I'm about to get my *** handed to me. My car ain't ready to track so we gonna meet up and run at a certain spot. My dart race car vs his ford bronco. My 4.88 dot drag radials & spool vs his mud terrains with 3.50 and locker. My gutted car against his full weight. His almost 700 HP...

    Pro ratchet question.

I went to park on a hill yesterday and I wasn't fully ingaugeing the parking gear. Today I adjusted the cable and realized I have a dumb question. With the B&M pro ratchet shifter is neutral a lock out gear or just reverse and park? It seems like N should require me to flip the lever but I...

What gauges do you actually look at?

When I'm actually "running" the car hard I'm not watching the gauges at all. So I figured let's see what most folks watch while driving. I moved the water temp up to the A pillar where I can see it easy. That one is a no brainer. What would your second most watched gauge be? My thought was...

    Hemi Dart window regulators.

Was driving by the local junk yard and figured I'd stop and look for some Hemi Dart window regulators. Well they didn't have any Hemi Darts but they did have the regulators. I had to look for a bit to find a set in black because when your building a high dollar concours car like mine it has to...

    I bought an expensive shirt.

My girl said I needed to buy a nice shirt for dinner with her folks, so I spent a lot of money on a new shirt..... The shirt cost 925 bucks plus shipping but it did come with a free 9.5 inch 3,800 RPM stall converter. so I think it counts as a nice shirt?

    Lexan windows on the street?

I'm just about to order the lexan to get rid of the glass in my dart. The guy who sells it mentioned I may wanna call CHP and see if it legal to run on the street. Called CHP and it is definitely NOT legal on the street. So anyone run lexan on the street in California? Have you ever been...

    Best street/strip tires?

I'm in need of all new rubber and have realised that I cant afford the tires I'm running. I need/want DOT rubber but I'm not apposed to non DOT. my Hoosier 295X65X15 DOT drag radials lasted about three months. At 250 each that's just not in my budget. Granted I'm running a spool but dont...

    Trans bolts access panel.

I hate separating the transmission and engine so I decided to make my life easier and make an access hole for the bolts. At the same time I rerouted my shift cable. Still got some holes in the fire wall to fix but I'm leaning towards just making a smooth fire wall next time the engine comes...

    Converter. Trans brake questions.

I have a chance to do a labor trade for my trans builder and I'm gonna take it. Total cost should be @ 3 grand. So I'm thinking new trans time for the 360 dart. RMVB and trans break about a grand right? Converter also about a grand. Then some parts and labor should put me and him just...

Finaly lined up against a new challenger!

Was bored today so I went and picked up the race car for some fun. Went out just driving around and killing time. Cowl vent delete?

Not sure where to put this but I figured maybe some other guys with race cars are in this boat? I'm thinking about removing my cowell vents and wiper holes as they leak water into the car. (No heater or wipers) Any one do something like this? Will it look super weird? I can make the panel on...

    Fire systems, they're important...

Just got a text from a friend who was out racing, he had some engine trouble resulting in a fire and no fire system. Turning this beauty work of automotive engineering into complete junk. Why he didn't have a fire system I cant say, it's not like he couldn't afford one. I've been putting off...

    What camber caster gauge?

Called a few places about getting the dart aligned. First place said they wont put it on their rack cuz the headers hang down to low. Second place has a pit but wont give an estimate on a car that old. They said the price is what it is..... I'm looking at spending about 150 on a cheep gauge...

    Strange axles

    Driveshaft hoop pics?

I'm starting building new frame connectors and a drive shaft hoop. I'd like to see pics of how you folks did yours. My old frame connectors were less than stellar, I welded them outside in the wind with the car on jackstans. So the welds weren't the best. My new set is 1 3/4 .120 wall tube...
