    Clearcoat Queston .

I’ve mixed the hardner from tractor supply with oil based and automotive enamels with success. Dry time is less than half and hardness has gone up quite a bit.

    Slant 6 worth?

Charlie- I said since he knew the combo one price and if it were a stranger - I would pay a different. I do not pay for an unknown engine based on a persons opinion if “okay.” As for buying /6 parts- it’s been years. But used parts are used as if you buy a swap meet. I price accordingly.

I have an issue with trans to flex plate

I would double check the bell housing bolts for tightness. From what was typed- I feel like the ring gear is out of alignment with the starter- bell housing alignment or double check the ring gear mount on the torque converter. The other issue I had with a 904 that was commercially rebuilt was...

Power steering pump makes the "empty" sound all the time.

When turning “lock to lock.” Turn slow and steady not a race from side to side.

    BARRACUDA BACK GLASS GASKET

Precision and none of them fit 100%. I had a glass company install my 66 and they ended up using a eurothane sealer to hold the gasket to the car before dropping in the window.

    Lock up converter question

Thanks but I’m not looking how to disable, but to understand if I know how they work and can keep it (lock up) without computer control. Most hot rod type info is how to disable the lock up which the more I learn is a horrible idea for a plain Jane passenger type vehicle.

Seeking advice on how to extract broken lug bolts

Excellent. I have a forklift and have owned a few so I get the front wheel drive thing. You will do good. Just slow and think about each step before doing it. Also- Dana’s idea about pre drilling a bolt is also a great idea. I can’t wait to try that.

Seeking advice on how to extract broken lug bolts

If your dead set against removing the flange or it is not drilled all the way thru then a plasma cutter on gouge setting will work. Start at the middle of the bolt and blast straight in. Slow and steady busts till you find the bottom of the hole. Then cut one side to threads. And once cool you...

Seeking advice on how to extract broken lug bolts

So the company I owndoes heavy equipment welder and repair. I’ve worked on stuff like this for over 40years. I could be wrong but you need to disconnect the other end of that rod and then hook up the new key lock side then drop it in and reconnect the mechanism side.

Thanks Jeff- I will keep that one in mind. I’m waiting on a buddy of mine who may have one. I can repair most of the broken mounts on mine but the crack a cross the back where the sole cable attaches is a deal breaker on saving the one I got.

Mine does anchors in metal plus has a ground lug and ground wire also. Chrysler must had not been so confident with the spring clip. The part number listed is actually for a 94-98 Ram pickup. I pulled that off Megamopar.com site I believe it was. GM used a very similar switch but want $36us...

8-1/4” rear gurus. Need a question answered.

So I got the cover off - decided to spend some money on a gasket and new fluid. 2.94-1 ratio. Ring gear number 2852933 Close enough to 3.0 I’m going to keep not worth the energy swapping out to go to 3.21-1 ratio. Maybe add a locker but honestly open in a street van is okay. Thanks for the...
