    Cylinder #7 down on compression

Look how much better that looks. The head gasket I took out was a Permatex 8553 I think. The plugs are NGK V-Power GR4

    Cylinder #7 down on compression

I understand where you are coming from. I am going to stop by Advanced Auto on my way home from work and I will do a wet leak down and see what happens. What should I use for the test? Paint Thinner? I don't see myself pulling the engine and doing a complete rebuild at this point in my life. I...

    Cylinder #7 down on compression

So a compression test is not a good test for overall condition of each cylinder? My compression test produced 7 holes of 140 or more and one of 105. With all the plugs out and the block stone cold. I don't consider that worn to the point that I need a complete rebuild. #5 was one at 140 PSI...

    Cylinder #7 down on compression

Oil level is pretty steady but it doesn't get a lot of use till the fall and I drive it whenever I can when the weather is cool.

    Cylinder #7 down on compression

Whatever intake and head gasket issues I might have had will be replaced when the engine goes back together. Other head is coming off since I have it all apart to make sure all is well but will probably get it to a shop to have it looked at. It would be stupid to just fix the problem i know of...

    Cylinder #7 down on compression

What should I clean up the top of the pistons with. is a wire brush on a drill to much? I would like to get some numbers off of hem. Why would someone put 8.5 to 1 pistons in a matching number block that came originally with 10.5 to 1's

    Cylinder #7 down on compression

The plugs are NGK Power 4 I think. What do you recommend I use cause when I put the engine back together I will be replacing the plugs most likely. I did the leak down and #7 exhaust valve is the culprit. I got the head off today and brought it to a shop and he took the #7 valves out. The valve...

    Cylinder #7 down on compression

what o you see in #5 plug? What causes the electrode post to get discolored? I'm off today and I'm going to give a leak down test a try. Will post what I find later.

    Cylinder #7 down on compression

I drove the car all season and it felt like power was down some. Not sure where this winter project is going to go but today I was off and decided to do a compression check. Engine cold and all plugs out 7 of the 8 cylinders were low of 137 and high of 155.......Cylinder 7 was at about...

My plans for my 69 Dart Swinger 340

Love your Dart. I would steer clear of air shocks for sure. I had them on a car in a previous life and they did make the car look cool for the time but the car rode like crap. Big old L60x15's on the back and every damn bump I hit especially turning the *** end wanted to come around.

My plans for my 69 Dart Swinger 340

My 70 340 Duster came with manual disc brakes up front. Pretty sure that was standard and not power assist.

    Stock Market

I am losing what I thought was a good income stock next month since the company was/is being bought out by a private company. Care to share the company name and symbol? I thought 7% was good with the previous holding I had.

What's the best way to fix aluminum intake threaded hole for temp gauge sending unit?

LD 340 intakes are not cheap if you can find one. Saw 5 at Carlisle and all sellers had 5 as the first number in the price.

What's the best way to fix aluminum intake threaded hole for temp gauge sending unit?

I am a gluton for punishment. I couldve been done with this if I just crumbled and brought it to a machine shop. Then again i was turned away a few years ago from the place thats local to me cause I brought in my lower control arms to have the bushings removed and replaced with the new ones I...

What's the best way to fix aluminum intake threaded hole for temp gauge sending unit?

I have a buddy with some nice Mopars and a couple other cars. He has lost touch with doing anything himself and pays people for basic repairs and he suggested trying JB Weld too.........I have done my share of half assing stuff before but this won't be one of those times.
