was working on the slant yesterday,got everything buttoned up went to put the valve cover gasket on the cover and it was totally wrong,seems ma changed the pattern from 81 up.guess what gasket kit i had?got a new gasket today ,set the lash 10 on the intake and 18 on the exhaust.my roomate is...

alright guys how much did it cost you to get hard seats and the ussual done to your slant head/?i assume bronze guides and a valve job.and at least 2 ex valves.the machinist down the road wants 400.00 i figure if its that much it should be completely redone right?let me know.....

my roomate has a 71 swinger daiy driver 6 cyl. it's burned valves twice so far.got an engine from a volare wagon swapped it out,ran real good for a month.then the rough idle crap.gotta tear it down again in a couple of days.so why would this be happening?:banghead:

roomates 71 /6 went south.got one for 600 with trans 80 thousand miles.its out of a 80 volare sure like the change in spark plug area,ie, no tubes
