Im trying to decide on what ignition box to use. 6, 6al, 6 plus, 7 so many types. Its for a small block 10.5 comp street car. Im not racing. I found a 6 plus for a reasonable price new in the box. Anyone know what box would be good for a street car?

can main bearings be taken out without removing crank. I have the engine on a stand and was inspecting the bearings and considering changing the mains. Basically can I tap the lower bearing out without physically taking the crank out? Like taping the rear main seal out.

I went to put this fuel pump eccentric on and noticed it has a keyway cut into it. When I installed it I lined it up with the keyway on the camshaft. The keyway doesnt come out far enough to engage the eccentric. In otherwords there isnt enough cam sticking out to engage the eccentric. Is this...

Does the crank seal install from back side of timing cover or the front on a small block 360. The reason I ask is I bought a chrome timing cover from a member here and when they chromed it they left the old seal in. I dont want to damage anything removing it. Looks like it comes out the front.

Thanks to all who helped with this issue. I wanted to post the fix. The head gaskets fixed it. Some of the lower bolts on the heads were only hand tight!!! Instead of re-torquing I opted to replace the gaskets. I left the old thermostat in. Since the heads were not torqued right the combustion...
