Mopar Muscle, a shop in Covington, TN

Does anyone have contact info for him? He was quite knowledgeable on Mopar transmissions and had a big-block to smallblock adapter kit. I have lost my contact for him and he's old school - no internet. Thanks!!

Use caution when you're buying from SA Gear.

The nieces' Ford Edge crapped a water pump, and since Ford is pants-on-head retarded, the water pump is behind the timing chain(s). From Ford, this is like $800 in parts if I'm going to replace chains and guides while I'm there. Enter Rock Auto. I find a timing chain set from SA Gear. Is it...

    Don't ignore leg cramps

Reading about Pittsburghracers' passing, and some people saying he'd had leg cramps, I'd like to share what I've gone through and try to get some awareness on the issue. Three weeks ago, I had a five hour train ride, lots of walking, and a five hour train ride. The next day, I had a "pulled...

I lowered my Valiant yesterday. No, I do not like the look.

I knew the hinge notch should have been deeper, but I listened to the saw pros for the first time ever and was in a hurry so I didn't listen to myself or think it through the million times I usually do. That elm was 24" in diameter at the trunk. I'm not upset. It missed the house, garage, and...

Great grandson of Walter P. Chrysler wants to buy the company back from Stellantis

I would invest heavily in this. https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/chrysler-founder-s-great-grandson-wants-to-save-the-brand-alongside-dodge-jeep-and-ram-from-out-of-touch-stellantis/ar-AA1pAHcy?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=d61a727993f546dc925bdfa2426a010a&ei=101 Frank B. Rhodes, Jr., wants to create a...

Any guesses as to what engine this intake fits?

It's got a cast base with individual runners, and a fabbed sheet metal top with single four barrel flange, and what appears to be a Chevy air temp sensor screwed in the bottom. The runners appear to have mechanical injector holes drilled in them. Your guess is as good as mine. I'm wondering if...

What a Godawful car. No wonder they stopped making them after one year.

I owe you all an apology

I've been a dick through the years, to be sure. I'm trying to be a better person, and I'm trying to be that here as well. I've been kind of crappy to some of you. I'm sorry. I promise I'll do better and be better. That's genuine. So, whichever one of you told Youtube to start putting Scotty...

    Leaf spring question

I've looked at fiberglass and carbon fiber leaf springs to save weight. Problem is, they break, and they're mono leaf. Do people ever run a steel single main leaf with fiberglass or carbon fiber leaves for the rest of the stack? No breaky breaky but still lighter than a pile of steel.

It's time to have a serious discussion about end-of-life priorities

Someday, I'm going to die. (hopefully between a blonde and a redhead) For years, it's been in my will that whatever conveyance I have between where I drop and where I'm dropped off needs to be a Mopar. I don't really care if it's a manure-spattered D250 farm truck or a 300C with a piano crate...

Book Review: The Mopar Six-Pack Handbook

My recent investigations into rebuilding my 6-pack led me to buy this book. Wanna spend $40+ dollars on a book that discusses specifics of the title subject on only about 20 pages out of 250? If you have ANY of Larry Shepherd's other Mopar books, you have everything else that's in this book...

    Want to know: Air Grabbers

I'm looking for some sort of book, technical compilation, or other comprehensive place that details the Chrysler fresh air induction systems of the late-60's and early '70's. I'm curious what parts were in them, and how to ID them. Not JUST the hood scoops, but the systems that had doors that...

Did we do this one yet? Dead Tesla's piled up at the Supercharger?

When the dude slams the door shut...I can feel the frustration. It's the same frustration I have when my Dart doesn't fire until I hit THREE pumps of the accelerator pump in this weather and let it fast idle for five minutes. Oh wait, no, it isn't. NGL, my Ram needs a block heater in this...

One person does more to save the environment than most EV's ever could...

Please forgive me if it's a re-post. The modern hippies seem to forget that the recycle triangle has two other sides, reduce and re-use, and probably needs a fourth dimension to become a recycle pyramid: repair. Repair is the aspect of ICE vehicles that gives them the true advantage, as my 2000...

Looking for a certain battery disconnect switch

    Gift for Mopar people

A lifelong friend of mine really went the extra mile and did me a solid favor. I'd like to give him a gift of some kind. He's a lifelong Mopar guy, and has plenty of diecast and other stuff like that. He still has his first car, a beater '75 Dart 4door with a nice little 318 under the hood...

    Body panel adhesives

On the Dart Lite and Feather Duster models, how did they attach the aluminum substructure to the hood skin and deck skin? Was it some kind of epoxy or rivet or what? I don't think it could be welds. On all-steel hoods, were the substructures welded or attached similarly? I don't see welds any...

440Source "Stealth" heads, your experiences and opinions

I'm looking at a set of the "Stealth" heads from 440Source. This would be a mild build in a 100% street application. I'm just curious to see what those of you that have run them, had friends that run them, and know those that hate them, what have you experienced? I do NOT like the fact that...

Odd thing I just realized about modern fuel...

After RustyRatRod's recent post about his zero turn, I just realized something about modern ethanol blend gasoline... If you have ethanol fuel and want to remove the ethanol, add water in a relatively large quantity (experiment with glass jar to witness this). The water will absorb the ethanol...

Here's what happens when your Tesla Roadster (or any EV) reaches the end of battery life

    Good member alert: MrBelvedere2

I recently bought a '75 Valiant grille from MrBelvedere2 Item was EXACTLY as described, arrived in near-perfect overpackaging, and he was SUPER patient with my delays in getting him paid (due to work travel). Dead serious, it took me weeks to pay the balance and he didn't complain once. I...

For you "Made In USA" types

A post on another forum lead me to these guys. They make some pretty neat stuff, and it's all made in USA. If we call and bug them, they might make some Mopar stuff. https://www.libertytabletop.com/ They have a "Liberty" set, outdoors sets, all kinds of holiday stuff, as well as dishes and...

New article on new fuel for/from Porsche

As it's sourced from a political site, I won't link directly, but Porsche is using a new fuel. Production is wind-powered at some place in Chile where the wind blows 270 days a year (They've never been to western Kansas, I reckon). It combines Carbon from CO2 in the air, with hydrogen from...

    Solar Panels, for CIVIL discussion

So I saw an article on CNN (https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/02/us/solar-babcock-ranch-florida-hurricane-ian-climate/index.html), discussing a town in Florida that didn't lose power during Hurricane Ian. Why? They have a huge solar array. From the article: Now, this town has 700,000 panels, and...
