My hinges have some some different slots on them where the hood attaches… do you think yours will work?

I am considering one of these for my 58 Chevy truck, mainly because I swapped in a 4l80e transmission which requires a throttle position sensor. The Edelbrock vrs has a provision to install one in the main body, instead of some aftermarket adapted situation.

I was thinking of cutting the whole diamond area out and using some seam sealer to seal the supports to the hood skin.. or using a 6" hole saw instead of the 4 " and cutting the two cutouts..

I am having the two 4 inch holes cut into the hood under my dual snorkel to help cut down on some heat under the hood. I need to get this to my body shop asap, Thanks in advance..

If you are building a stroker a lot of folks (including me) used a roller cam. Which in today’s world opens up a lot more options. And roller cams will make more power with more drivability. The bonus of using an early magnum block is it will accept the LA style edelbrocks or other similar heads...

If you can locate an early magnum block, they oil through the heads just like the LA motors. I would look for an 85-90 block if memory serves me right. This way you can save the 340, it will be of little value after you stroke it. just sayin.. The photo below shows a magnum block with the oil...

I did mine on a 72 Dart which has less room than your Duster right out of the gate. I also relocated the springs to the frame rails, and I am using a stock width 8 3/4 as well. I am running 325/50/15's on some stock cop wheels widened to 10" with a 7 5/8 backspace. They fit like a glove...

Nice car! Just spend the time / money to get the body straight and the paint will always look nice.

I would sell the 340 and use the funds to build a 360 magnum stroker. You'll be financially ahead of the curve.
