    FRONT END ALIGNMENT

Yes, I do all my own alignments and my cars drive well. It does take some practice. And some special equipment, I use a Fastraxx caster/camber gauge, a set of turn plates and toe plates.

[Found!] Tiny Halogen Light Bulbs for Snap On Alignment Rack Toe Gauges, The Size of a 194, but Not a 194

I am still working on this Snap On alignment gauge project and need some light bulbs, but no idea what number they are. They have the same end on them as a 194 bulb that might be found under a car dash. However the other end looks like a vintage Christmas tree bulb. They are halogen and the...

    K-frame alignment?

...no engine in the car, I would move those front jack stands to the trans crossmember sub frame. To help the front of the car droop down into alignment. Those cars flex all over the place when jacking them up. First clue right now with the way you have it, do the doors hang low when you try...

    Adjustment for positive Camber?

I really recommend that everyone learns to do their own alignment. All that is required is a digital angle finder or a caster camber gauge a tape measure and four floor tiles greased. These cars usually can be set up with about a half degree of negative camber and then the max caster that can...

How were the A bodies put together down the assembly line?

2nd picture obviously has no damage. I was showing how off center both shock mounts are on my Dart. Alignment is fine. Question is would the factory do this on the assembly line to move the car along? Other Darts I was referring to also had the same damage on the drivers side.

    Adjustment for positive Camber?

Changing the Camber will change the Toe and could change the Caster. I would take it to an alignment shop that has experience with torsion bar suspension on these cars.

    Distributor gear installation

Problem solved. It was the position of the oil pump causing the alignment issue. I was able to rotate the oil pump a little then tried inserting the distributor gear/shaft again and was able to align it with the front intake bolt at the #1 cylinder. Thanks for all the info about how I can make...

How should I prep for a color change over existing good paint?

Sand and spray the door jam and the inside of the fender first, test alignment of new panels and then sand the outer surfaces to paint. Be sure the paint is a good match, otherwise you will have to blend it to the existing paint.

    Front end rebuild 1972 Duster

...in and adjusted, the tires are on, the LCA bolts were tightened and the UCA cam bolts were left slightly loose so I can move them during alignment. Awhile back, I bought this alignment gauge. It has a magnetic base to stick to the hub. The outer bubbles are for camber, the inner is...

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

Great advice has already been given. One more thing, after you're done you'll need a front end alignment immediately.

    Adjustment for positive Camber?

If you have the correct tools to do an alignment then a machine is not necessary. But your talking some real dough for a Camber / caster gauge, toe plates, bump steer gauge, turn tables, scale plates and platform, laser level. Is it worth inventing in all of this to do your own alignment when a...

For race cars most of the time the alignment is done on scales and yes the drivers weight is necessary to know as it does have an impact.
