Carb fuel “log” vs dual fed lines?

If you are building a fuel system I would never build one without a return line. It’s just not worth it any more. Every time I see those cheap *** junk Holley regulator I wonder how they keep selling garbage. I’d do it once and not think about it again.

ADDING A RETURN LINE TO AN OEM NON-EVAP FUEL SYSTEM QUESTION

Is that like a bigass rivnut? I've never seen one of those before. That's a damn good idea! Thanks for posting that.

    Fuel systems for drag cars

We ran a Dakota in Stock Eliminator and Crate Motor classes. Our fuel cell was mounted in the bed of the truck. I wouldn't want a fuel cell mounted under the hood because if you front crash the car, chances are the cell will rupture. The fireball will be horrendous and think of where all of the...

    Complete fuel system

Looks good!! I would ask the guru recipe for a carb setup with return line. The in tank pump is more quiet which I enjoy. So, if it were mine, and knowing the anxiety of an efi setup (even though I have had success with mine) I would do ...... tanks inc with in tank pump although I believe you...

You don’t have to make a sale to me. I’m already sold on my way. And I’m just as stubborn as you, maybe more so.

How would you run the return ??

I'd look into something like this - fuel line return bulkhead fitting. No brazing needed, just need to drill a 9/16" hole in the sender face.

How to Prevent Holley Carburetor Fuel Boiling

Part of your problem is where you live. 100 plus in the summer and sub freezing in the winter. Assuming you drive year around when you can the heat is great on the winter but in the summer it causes issues. IMO if you get the coolant temp down to 190 it would help. After that the next fix...

    Gets hot and stalls out

If you were ever to go to the drag strip they may not allow the fuel line going up the fire wall like that. Just an FYI to anyone routing fuel lines. Of course, if yo never go to the track it doesn't matter.

    PAXTON SUPERCHARGER NOVI 1200 KIT

If you're running an electric fuel pump, you could tap a block off plate and drain it into the fuel pump mount. Heck, now that I think about it, the factory used a hollow bolt on the fuel pump for the return line on the police package oil coolers- so you could probably do that even if you're...

    12:05 Garage- ’70 Duster build

I currently run a Tanks inc EFI tank with the "corvette" style filter/regulator, which is a dead head system. I plan to change over to the return a return style system, which will require an additional line to the tank, a new regulator and filter.

Vapor return or liquid return line?

Thanks for this reply - I really like your idea on that restrictor. To clarify - are you saying you plumb in a bung for a new return at the top of the tank or do you use the one we've now figured out is the vent. Doesn't the tank still need a vent?

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Basically it is a return line , or vent...Like Fred said, you can put an extension hose on it and a filter and just keep it in the back of the car....

    Fuel line Mod Questions- Confused

Hello all, I’m still new to this and learning as I go. I believe with the 90+ degree days and heat index at 105 the last couple days in Miami and foreseeable future , I am certainly experiencing vapor lock conditions. After searching these forums and YouTube, I’m still confused in terms of...

    Fuel pickup/sender units with vent

Considering getting a new unit as opposed to drilling holes for a return line. I see quite a few options over pages of looking. Might just try a bulkhead fitting, too. Any recommendations for a known GOOD unit? 'Good' would include a sender that works with the OEM gauge, a float that might...

How to Prevent Holley Carburetor Fuel Boiling

Coolant temp is around 210, Mechanical fuel pump, this never happened before and when we put an octane additive in the fuel this never happened either

    6 Pack Issues

Eddie, first thing I'd do is confirm the vapor lock. Get an IR temp gun and shoot the fuel hose in several places. Then shoot the carburetor base plates and float bowls. If you think that those temps are too hot, here's my suggestion. See the red arrow. Remove that last banjo fitting and replace...

Super Six Slant Six!!!!!! Well this has been in my stash for many years, as backups. Now I am getting rid of everything. 6 Pack Issues

The easiest solution is to pull the six pack back off and send it to me. I am running a tanks Inc. in- tank pump with a regulator and return line to the tank. It works great. I think the simplest solution would be to try the filter with a return and make sure all of your fuel lines are away...

    Return Line Routing

For clarification's sake, there was never a SOLID FUEL return system on our Mopars. There was, however vapor return. I'm getting ready to run a return line on my truck, Gladys. I'm just going to run right beside the existing fuel line from the tank right to the engine bay.

    Fuel System Recommendations

I up-sized an existing return line nipple on the factory sending unit by using a step drill and a 3/8's steel line silver soldered together. Finding real silver solder took a minute though. The electrical pass-through fitting is from Radium Engineering. This sending unit can be fitted with...

Vapor return or liquid return line?

@RustyRatRod pointed me in the direction of the factory repair manual (insanely better than the Hayes I have by the way...) it appears that second line is the vent that used to run to a charcoal canister which has since been deleted. I'll try your idea about the ethanol free route but I'd still...

    Gets hot and stalls out

Note that I am in AZ. I run a Holley 770 on my magnum. 3/8 lines up and back for a return system with both lines routed up the corner of the firewall and inner fender insulated then across to attach to a flipped backwards dual fuel feed hard line. My return T is right before the hard line that...

    Fuel systems for drag cars

Yup. Unless the tank is almost empty it doesn’t do ****. What the directions do not say is keep the return fuel away from the outlet to the pump. With a 3 gallon cell it’s hard to do. Barry forgot that in his instructions. With a bigger cell or a bigger tank it makes zero difference. I know...

How to Prevent Holley Carburetor Fuel Boiling

And I just checked it’s 9/15 here too. Luckily I’ve been keeping notes of specific gravity of different pump fuels but I don’t think I’ve checked winter blend yet. That’s if the specific gravity changes with the different blends. It may not.

What will cause my float bowls to go dry

I had the problem on Gladys where the fuel in the line between the carburetor and pump would drain back through the fuel pump towards the tank. I solved it way back then with a Dorman one way check valve. I've since replaced that fuel pump and redone some of the fuel system forward of the pump...
