    Electric fuel system

Are you using any type of vapor return? It would require running a line back to the tank, but it works very well to cure vapor lock with mechanical pumps. The factory used them on some 440s around 1969-'70. Repops are available by Goodmark, I think. Also Wix makes a filter filter that will...

    Fuel Return

Update- Tentative success! Spent more time than I wanted to searching manuals and the Interweb and wading through mounds of irrelevant information, and came up with this. In the '75 FSM, I have this: So, the filter's vapor return is supposed to have a .060 orifice/restrictor. No sign of it in...

Holley Sniper on 700 hp big bock

You should've bought the Holley 12-389 muscle car EFI module. If you bought the 12-389 then it drops into the tank and it has the regulator, pump and pre-filter built in. All you need to complete the install is a high pressure line that runs from the tank to the Sniper and a 10 micron filter...

    Complete fuel system

that's the route i went. on the big D i used a blazer tank between the rails just behind the cab. with some creative fittings and hose i was able to run the stock filler up on body at the door. the tank came with all the stuff for the vent, but i needed a different/aftermarket inlet/spout...

Plumbing a '69 style filler neck vent

I'm replacing the fuel lines on my 73 dart - but the vent line that used to run to the charcoal canister is now going to be a vapor return line - so I'll need a different vent. I've seen suggested here many times that users could add a '69 style vent to the filler tube, plumb a loop up high...

    EFI Fuel System

Fuel pump, I'd run the old reliable Walbro 255, they make an inline version. https://aftermarket.tiautomotive.com/product/gcl627/?horsepower=0&flow_rate=255&max_pressure=87&fuel_type= You can run a "returnless" corvette regulator, they're pretty popular. Most new cars don't run a return...

Nice work. Are you running the return line from the end of your fuel rail back to the filter?

    Vapor lock- additive?

YouTube is really annoying about that, they'll keep feeding you videos on the same stuff based on your watch history. If you go and delete all your watch history the same stuff will stop popping up in your recommended videos. Just another way they keep us glued to our screens and watching...

    Vapor lock- additive?

Not saying I’ve got vapor lock at all. I’m just reading the tea leaves here Rusty. I’m stuck in a loop on Boob tube that almost every car video that pops up lately is about vapor lock. The why and how but other than a mechanical fix- nobody is addressing how to fix by adding an additive, like...

    Vapor lock- additive?

Not that I have heard of. Most of the issues are fuel percolating and hot soak. Not many of our cars run like crap and stall because of vapor lock.

What is your 451 stroker combo?

There is a thing or two I am not sure of what I’m seeing. But I think it’s like, a Mirage. Electrical wires down the drivers side, PVC valve hose seems to wrap around the rear and appearing like it’s connecting to the fuel line, the return spring looks like solid linkage for the trans kick...

Looking for some advice on a 360 magnum swap

When I updated my duster to 3/8 fuel line, I ran the new line right next to the old, and hooked the stock line up as a return line

    Transfer slot Holley 1 bbl

make sure the curb-idle screw is on the throttle stop; and the fast-idle cam is not interfering. But yeah, in the pic you can see carbon/fuel-wash evidence that this particular carb has been running in several different idle positions for extended periods of time. Make sure that ; 1) the...

Supplemental electric fuel pump and regulator rec's

Do a fuel volume test. the volume test will tell the tale. You need about half a pound per hp per hour. and fuel weighs about 6 pounds per gallon. So then, if you really had 450 hp, you would need, (450 x .5 pound )/6=37.5 gallons per hour. your pump will need to supply 37.5gallons...

Buy a car without physically seeing it

I don't either, I think I called you with a problem with the ramcharger, and picked your brain, we ended up replacing the fuel pump in a truck stop parking lot and when we got home I discovered a pinched return line, (89, TBI so we had to drop the tank in the parking lot) line got pinched...

    Which one is better? (long)

The fuel neck vent does not get piggybacked into the fuel return, that would defeat it's venting ability and cause fuel delivery issues. The vent (when no charcoal cannister is used) is just open to atmosphere; from the neck it loops upward into the C pillar area and then follows the filler...

    return line location

I'll have some pics tomorrow. I also noticed that there is no indentation on the right inner fender well for a slant 6 engine alternator. I thought all A-Bodies had them regardless of what engine it had from the factory.

    PFTE fuel line and routing

Thinking of changing the fuel line on the Scamp to accommodate new Sniper EFI (winter project). Was wondering what you guys think of using PTFE stainless braided hose for the entire length of the fuel line? Also wondering what your thoughts are on running the fuel line in the engine bay on the...

    Vapor lock- additive?

With all the talk on utube and on here and other sites about vapor lock. Now the info about how the fuel is separating into parts and evaporation is taking place due to the new fuel has no additives to prevent the lighter or easily boiled off parts from happening since new cars are closed...

Hose from Tank to Line 72

I was apparently unclear in my initial post. I was using my phone and that was my fault. The topic is the rubber hose that connects the steel fuel line to the fuel tank sending unit on a 1972 Duster 340. I purchased this vehicle recently and determined that it would not start due to fuel not...

    Fuel Pump Issue?

What type and how many clamps are installed on the New neoprene rubber jumper at the back, from the sender to the main line? If this jumper sucks air, you will get exactly what you describe. Because this jumper is higher than the tank, it does Not leak liquid fuel. If gearclamps, you need two...

    Fuel systems for drag cars

The fastest car I have ever had was a W5 deal in a 3350 pound uncut, unminitubbed 70 Duster with full interior including the back seat. return line location

Sho nuff. Those vapor return lines make great solid fuel return lines, UNTIL you really start getting on up there in power, then you need a 3/8 or larger return line, but you'll be fine for what you're doing.

    Magnum and Wiring Swap

I was careful to get the smaller pump that supports "only" up to 450 hp. I figured it would be a miracle if I could get a factory Magnum anywhere near 450 hp, so the small pump would be fine. Because with fuel pumps bigger is not better if you don't need it. I've heard a pump that supports...
