    should be an interesting build.

Nice demon to chop up. Hurts to see them sawsalling it. I get the reasoning of start with a solid piece.

Creak/Pop In the Front End of My Swinger

Yes. When I turn the wheel in park or with the brakes on. Also, it makes the sound when the engine is off and I turn the steering wheel.

    Rare 1964 Hemi Dodge 'cuda.....

Wonder how many kids are going to tell their friends about the Dodge Cuda
  8. NC Engine Builder

    Bad engine miss

Exactly. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find a valve tight due to fuel varnish from sitting. Especially on a fresh build, where the clearance is much tighter than some 150k mile used engine

Creak/Pop In the Front End of My Swinger

No recent changes. It just started. No modifications in the front end beyond those weird strut rod bushings that have been on there for more than 20 years. Makes the sound if I turn the wheel with the engine off.

Suggestions for new design Aluminum Mopar SB clean slate (kind of) cylinder heads

That’s not what he’s saying. He’s correct. You can’t do any more than what you are getting out of castings who’s architecture was set in stone in the very early 1960’s. That **** is obsolete. A B1 is a 1980’s design. It’s 40 years old. It’s unreal how ******* stone headed and *** backwards...

[FOR SALE] 1968 to 73 318 Kickdown Rod

This is a 1968 to 73 318 Kickdown Rod. It came off of a 1972 318, but may also work on other years and engines. It goes from the bell crank to the kick down lever. It is original, not a china knockoff, and is about 9 3/4" long. $25.00. Local pickup, or buyer pays shipping.

Creak/Pop In the Front End of My Swinger

I know I could do a full-on front end rebuild and this would probably go away, but I'd feel like an idiot if I didn't figure out what has failed first.

I would just about bet my last dollar that's what it is.

Creak/Pop In the Front End of My Swinger

Ball joints and tie rod ends are all freshly pumped full of grease (I guess one that is super far gone could still make a noise even with grease, but the sound didn't change at all).

My search for a shorty D100 is over

let's just make it all the more cornfusing: ford called them "styleside" and "flare side"

    How about this for storage/shelving?

but all that stuff up top can get heavy...either quantity wise or heavy parts themselves. 'sides, getting older, may not even want to walk up more stairs!

Creak/Pop In the Front End of My Swinger

As long as we're on strut rod bushings -- I've never been quite sure that what is on there is correct. They look absolutely huge -- so thick that the nut can't get on far enough to put the cotter pin in there. It's been like that for manyt years, so that's probably not what is causing the...

Trust me, they are often bogus. And on purpose for certain shops.

I’d pull the springs off the valves that go with the bent pushrods and verify they move freely in the guides.

Creak/Pop In the Front End of My Swinger

It sounds like a dude stroking an inflated balloon. It is interesting that it happens only when turning, as if the steering shaft itself is rubbing against something. I don't think that a center link sounds like that when scraping the oil pan. I would consider removing the steering column and...
