    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

But when this situation is resolved 8 years from now and I create the temporary garage, how many of their descendants will still be around, crawling in my effing ears while STILL trying to get this POS Duster on the road???

I THOUGHT ABOUT SOMETHING LIKE THAT !

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

That might work if he had a car, but he doesn't. At this time, believe it or not, I don't have much of a beef with the squatter. It's his family and their real-estate agent whom I'm after. The funny thing is, I never met my real-estate agent (another long story) yet at some point during this...

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

This whole thing is WAAAY more complicated than that. Too hard to even start explaining. He has court documents showing that he has until 10/24 (yes another month) to get his *** out. I can't post and defend until after that. I was armed when I went there Saturday, so when it looked like he...

    Too Hot

If you're REALLY looking for something to do, look at my "340 overheat/geyser" thread.

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

UPDATE...I have not had the time or motivation to look at the most recent replies. Why? because I was told on Thursday night that my squatter left the property to stay with a friend and the Sheriff Deputies told him he can't come back. I closed on the property Friday morning. When I went...

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

That is a total Mitch situation, BUT it is moving water. I'm taking a break for a while. Next steps are combustion gas test, then compression test. Literally crawling around in my storage unit yesterday resulted in not finding the compression tester though. I'm too angry to be wasting any...

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

There's a movie called Barfly. I enjoyed it because, as I recall, in the beginning they show a bunch of Los Angeles' diviest bars in town, and sadly I had been to many of them. Never got "lucky" enough to drag anything out of them though.

Since you mentioned it (negativity alert)....Nice properties in the Nashville area are VERY hard to find unless you're a rich guy. This is a GREAT 2-acre property that checked all of my boxes after a 2-year search starting from before I even moved here. I didn't even go in the house. I don't...

Darn it I keep meaning to see if the fan is backward but I always forget.

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

"Final" update for now. I took it on the highway yesterday. Took 10 minutes to get there, then after about another 10 at 60MPH, same deal. If anything it heat up quicker on this drive than it does when sitting idling. When home and cool I did a very thorough coolant flush. There was a lot...

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

Thank you...The 180 that was in-there tested OK. I installed a 160 just now and started the process of a radiator flush which I'll finish Sunday. Given the history of this car (started resto in 2006 and still not driveable), I'm "certain" that this is gonna be something much more sinister.

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

That tool...I never sausage a thing. Good to know. I'm gonna stick with the current plan first of thermo/rad flush. I'll try the tool next if I need to. Now that you mention it I don't remember seeing the bubbling yesterday when I ran it. Thanks

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

    1. I don't think so. It has not been driven over 30 MPH in a long time. For now, I just want to be able to cruise Lower Broadway, which is a sloooow drive with a lot of loooong lights. 2. I don't know. Probably 180. I'm installing a 160 Sunday. 3. Yeah I know. Like everything else, my...

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

This is the last of the troubleshooting that I’m gonna do on this thing before taking stuff apart. Not sure if I mentioned yesterday’s pressure test. As I said the gauge on the tool quit, but I manipulated it to get it to work. I can’t speak to the accuracy, but I cranked it up to 15 psi. After...

No change with behavior. No geyser of course, but very little loss from overflow hose. Thanks

Upper hose at radiator = 202 Lower hose at radiator = 149 Thanks

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

Update...Timing is now at 40 degrees total. I'm not sure what it was before I changed it (yeah I know), but the idle speed is lower now. No change. Meanwhile the gauge on my pressure tester that I went to storage yesterday to retrieve quit working, so there's that. Today I let it run only...

Great stories. I love stories. Sorry about your Brother. I never knew that our hobby was active in Antartica (gelled coolant). Thanks for the suggestions.

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

I'm going to try to do the timing this week. I can't open anything up with it at this point without breaking a lot of rules in the building, such as sneaking my hose through an opening in the trash room door, and connecting it to a faucet in the sprinkler room (no, it's not part of the...

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

Video was set to unlisted but I changed it to public. Thanks. Nope...Everything stays where it should when revving the engine. It only exploded out of the radiator when I shut the engine off. I do try to have an open mind, especially since I've had nothing but basically unexplainable issues...

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

Thanks everyone. I will try this again tomorrow with better info on timing and temps. I'm living in an apartment in Nashville now so I do the best I can with having no garage and all of my tools in storage. Here's answers to most of the questions posed so far... Cam...Comp Cam basically a...

    340 Overheat / Radiator Geyser

Yes I searched before posting. My 340 is a "fresh" motor but broken-in. The car has been plagued with issues so I'm just getting to where I can drive it more than just around the block. I've taken it out maybe 3 or 4 times and it's always been running real hot. 3/4 on the gauge or more...

    Need Car Transport Info

Hey guys...I recently posted or maybe just stalked about good shipping companies. Some, along with a local friend, said to use Reliable. I did just that for my Duster and it went really well. Now I need to get my daily-driver Subaru shipped from Hartford, CT to Nashville, TN. This is just an...

Sorry for the delay. Yes they are tinted. What I-think is the backlite measures exactly 23" from top to bottom in the center.

    [SOLD] '70 Duster Glass **FREE**

From my car when I got it, I have both rear 1/4 windows, Right side door glass, and what I-THINK is a rear glass / backlite. We can investigate this further if-needed. It might be a windshield. These are 53 year-old parts and are not going to be anywhere near perfect. I am moving soon so...
