Fluid style harmonic balancer for 273

I was looking to get a new harmonic balancer for my 67 273 Commando. I'd like to go with a "fluid" style one (later to be used on a built360). My concern is that my timing marks are on the left of the engine. Does anyone make this style of balancer with the appropriate sided marks? I was looking...

    Help! Intake manifold won't fit!

I just pulled my 67 273 Commando manifold off to replace it with a Performer. Steel intake gaskets came off with the intake. Now when I put the new manifold on with Edelbrock gaskets the damn thing sits to high. I'd have to clearance the bolt holes to get them in. I pulled off the gaskets and...

Magnum heads, single or dual pattern cam

Looking for a good sounding board. Since the exhaust side of the the Magnum head is "better" than the J head should I use a single pattern cam (Comp 270 magnum) vs. a dual pattern (Comp 274 Xtreme energy) to balance the flow of intake vs. exhaust (I am looking at hydraulic only) or does it...

oiling through pushrods on an LA small block

I recently saw a TV show where they built a 451 out of a 400. One thing that stuck with me was they had oiling through the push rods AND the rocker shafts. They used ball/ball push rods. Anyone ever done this with a small block? What would the advantages be?:violent1:

2012 Pentastar V6 and 8 speed tranny for an A-body

I just drove a 2012 Chrysler 300 and was REALLY impressed with the V6 and 8 speed transmission. Has anyone thought about doing a swap of this combination into an A-body. I would think the performance would be great (the 300 does 60 in 7.5 seconds) and 28+ mpg would not hurt. The V6 in the...

New cam for the Commando 273

I am contemplating a cam swap on my 67 273 Commando Barracuda S. My plans are for a 625 Carter (or EFI), Performer intake, adjustable 1.6 roller tip rockers, headers, full dual exhaust with h pipe to accompany the cam change. In looking at the different cam companies Lunati sticks out to me as a...
