    My Western Sport Special

Thinking of doing up a mod top for mine as well. I looked through the post but didn’t see where you sourced the material. Love it!

[Found!] 8 3/4” passenger shock plate

I’m looking for a passenger side shock plate (or pair) for an 8 3/4” rear (69 Barracuda), with good threads on the shock mount. zip is 55304 Thanks!

    69 Notch Barracuda - Rebirth

She fired right up. I had to wait out the 95* heat and take care of a fuel leak at the primary inlet (several times), but overall,. PSI running at 7 (according to el cheapo gauge) . Still a few tweaks to go. Not happy with the throttle return spring/idle speed, and have to make sure...

Intake and carb are on... mocking up and routing the fuel lines for the new (cheap) dual fuel inlet fitting. Decided to route a hard line to and up and over the distributor... then a soft line down between the heater hoses to the the pump. Seems pretty slick. Should be enough room to rotate and...

    Another bolt sealant question

Good to know! Thanks Rusty. As always, much appreciated info.

    Another bolt sealant question

Yep. Done. Went with P#2. I just wasn’t sure if the White Ptx Thread sealer was compatible with oil, but good to know for next time. I’m not too worried. I may be breaking it all down for a cam swap this winter. Thanks guys.

    Another bolt sealant question

I’m doing an intake swap. The valley pan from my RV 440 had some minor oil pooling. There was no sealant on any intake bolts.. so I’m assuming that’s where much of the oil came from. I have some stainless intake bolts that I’d like to use. Permatex Aluminum Anti-seize is recommended for these...

Decided on black for the intake for now. I did put on a few coats of primer.

    69 Notch Barracuda - Rebirth

Drove out into WI to buy a set of 452 heads today. This was in the seller’s garage (factory 440 4 speed car, # matching drive train). In one of his other garages was a 69 Barracuda that he was building for street/strip.. sitting next to it was a crate 392 Hemi with headers and K member already...

    69 Notch Barracuda - Rebirth

Thanks. I should have clarified what I’m after. Generally speaking, from what I’m reading, it sounds like 4-hole for low end TQ, and open for top end HP. I’m after low end, so ill stick with the 4-hole for now. Summit QA said the same. What prompted my question was watching this:

Installed the insulated trunk divider (I pulled the old stinky, busted one last summer) from Detroit Muscle and it made a big difference as far as the rear seat squeaks! Wow, does that passenger side rear seat belt look like a Black Mamba! Speaking of Black Mamba... that’s the engine color...

    69 Notch Barracuda - Rebirth

Just slapping some parts together and getting ready for the intake and carb swap soon. I kept the carb that I rebuilt for my old 383 build. It’s an AED Holley (4150) 750 DP HP-HO, and should be perfect for my stock RV 440. I’ve got a 1” 4 hole carb spacer, but not sure if it would be a little...

Head rests are also stabbed in now (moldings not screwed down). Some blemishes on the original head rests where I tried to fill some holes with vinyl filler, but whatever. Glovebox liner from Detroit Muscle also installed.. perfect fit!

Gasket matching my new Performer RPM intake. Im just using my 60 gallon air compressor, die grinder, and some cheap tungsten bits. This gives me good speed control, as well as overall ease of use and accuracy due to the size of the tool. This is a warm-up to do some porting over the winter on...

    [Found!] A body passenger mirror

Looking for a passenger side mirror to match mine, and that has the same, approximate appearance. Minor pitting is okay! Preferably with hardware.

    69 Notch Barracuda - Rebirth

When I bought my project, it came with an installed fiberglass hood from a 340 6-pack (according to the sticker ghosts). It also came with some vintage hood pins, which may have been original to the hood, because they are pretty gnarly looking. They’ve have been sitting on the shelf for five...

Wrapping the headrests with cheap trim that works just fine... vinyl filler (no photo) where there wasn’t enough material to glue down the trim.

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

I did add some vinyl filler where the material went too far gone in some areas for glue adherence .. then began gluing with JB clear 1 minute epoxy. Adhere strip on chrome plastic piece is worthless so ignored it. I first started with gluing an “anchor” section (a few inches long) 24 hours ago...

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Re-spraying (SEM Landau black) vinyl paint on my head rests after “removing” the 50 year old trim piece that had melded to the old vinyl in many places. Mild heat, took my time... some places just were not separating. Anywho.. I have new repop chrome trim that is slightly wider than the...

After the new signal switch install, I forgot to check the brake lights (the signals worked fine, so I just assumed I was good to go). I didn’t know at the time how integral the turn signal switch is with the brake lights. I knew something was up, since when I hit the brakes, the right signal...
