Finally Tired of Antics on Graveyard Cars

People have absolutely paid as much as Worman charges to restore A-bodies, and there are 6 figure A-body restorations out there. Whether or not they resell for that much is irrelevant, I'm sure some of the B/E bodies he's done cost more to restore than they ended up selling for. Most, and I mean...

Solid Roller camshaft selection those of you running a 408 race application - lobe seperation

While I agree, I do t think he has any illusions of W8 performance. IMO, the search here is for a better cam than he has with taking advantage of the ports capabilities. Once the overlap and power band are found for his combination he’ll be in good shape. That’s true

Solid Roller camshaft selection those of you running a 408 race application - lobe seperation

That cam should work very well in a 408 with those flow numbers and over 12:1.

Finally Tired of Antics on Graveyard Cars

You’re never going to see anyone pay $90,000 for a stock 318 Valiant or Dart. Dan Short from Fantomworks has stated that people are idiots if they think that their cars can be restored for $50,000. If you do everything yourself, it is possible but paying for body and paint on an A body isn’t...

[FOR SALE] 340 bock no main caps

I have a 340 .040 over block with no main caps. This was a running motor but something happened and water got in a few cylinders. Ended up finding another 340 and I had to use the main caps from this block. I'm sure it will need sleeves. $200 + the ride

[FOR SALE] Thermoquad 6138S carb in nice shape

Just realized the choke rod wasn't installed. It is now. The car had a manual choke cable on it, that's why it was removed. Thanks, Scott

More carb and probably rpm with that large 50 number on the camshaft, probably get in the 800 range I would bet ! I would think with that large 50 number camshaft and heads that dude will rpm on up there !

School me on Intake compatability, and modifications.

I see that can be had with a carbed top, I just wonder if it would fit under a Hemi scoop? Looks badass, but very tall!

Very cool! My grandfather's 71 Swinger got me into Mopars. My cousin in Waverly, Alabama still has the car, but I think he's just letting it sit and rot. I'm just 70 miles south of you in Jones County.

    8.75 rear change

Yes, plus ALL of the early "oddball" 8 3/4 rears like from the early 60s on back were 741s as well, even though they sported different casting numbers. They were all the 1 3/8 pinion stem. Also, the Ford 8.8 pinion shaft "I believe" is smaller at 1.320". I could be wrong about that, but for some...

Just joined. We’ve had a 71 Dart in the family since my grandfather bought it new, now starting to do a little work on it. Just here to learn anything I need to know about the car.

Finally Tired of Antics on Graveyard Cars

 That would almost be believable except for the fact that other shops have done high dollar restorations on A-bodies. You can't just say it's unprofitable and no one does it- it's been done, the cars are out there, you can see them in the old magazines and they've been at the auctions...

[FOR SALE] Edelbrock 8.5mm plug wires

Nearly brand new Edelbrock 8.5mm plug wires. I had them on my 409 Chevy with an MSD distributor. They should fit SB Mopar just fine since they have the same spark plug configuration. They have about 1 hour run time on them. Switched them out for retro-style yellow wires. Comes with the boots...

    8.75 rear change

it's the folklore, that's all. fools thinking that because the 489 pinion is whatever .000 percent bigger means it sooo much stronger. they put 741's in trucks ffs.
