Which size drums on 69 Dart? And some other brake questions.

I agree just measure the inside of the drum. It could also have a casting size on it that states max size for truing. If it starts with "9. something it's a 9" and it it starts with "10. something it's a 10" . Good luck you can do it

i love how you have some arbitrary question for me to "prove" my bonafides. also, i never claimed to be an expert, although i am forklift certified and i've played an expert witness on television and in the courtroom. anyway, i'll play along with your little charade. are you talking about the...

Which size drums on 69 Dart? And some other brake questions.

Yeah, don't be lazy- these are your brakes after all. Another $20 to make sure two tons of steel will actually stop is a good investment in my book.

    Roller or hydraulic lifter 360?

I have the opportunity for a street car to use either a late roller cam 360 (not a magnum) or an earlier 360 with hydraulic lifters and cam. Is there an advantage to one or the other? I’ve heard it said that the factory roller motor was not much of an improvement. True? Are there other...

let us know what they turn out to be. Should be 9 inch from your explanation, but with Mopar I've learned never to say never...

    340 six pack / ‘69 Swinger

Those appear to be the mechanical linkage carbs offered through DC and other sources- driver's side fuel inlets and no vacuum pods, unlike OEMs. From what I understand, basically Bowtie Tripower carbs. Your center carb may need the Holley/Mopar linkage adapter depending where the carbs were...

you asked the other day for us to prove ourselves. We did with pics of cars, parts etc. You can't even show us a set of spark plugs, wires, rotor, cap, carb, oil filters. A car guy has parts. Something spare. Show anything or ya not real.

Which size drums on 69 Dart? And some other brake questions.

My mother is the original owner of the car, so I amazingly do actually know that the drums were never upgraded. But yeah, I guess I should measure them. Yeah, I put the wheels back on so I could put the car back in the garage overnight. I don't know why I didn't think to measure them before...

    A Body Tire Clearance

So you are going to braze up a unibody car? If so, don’t touch the rails and get a lot of practice with your bonding skills. A cheap mig is going to pay for itself if you go in as deep as you are talking about and you will have it for your next project.

Finally get to pretend I am one of the cool kids - Holley kit swap

Man, progress has been so slow. Partly because I spend way too much time overthinking things, partly because it is cold out and partly because the holidays took a bunch of time. But I am close to finally cutting some sheetmetal for the trans/bell. So maybe some real progress soon, hopefully...

General engine question for slant six wizards

@OneOfMany : You're right. In addition to the typical Chrysler stamp locations, due to European mandatory regulations the VIN is present in 2 other locations. On the passenger side inner fender. Same font, but bigger and a little bit clumsy Probably punched by the Chrysler International agent...

Dan, drive to Topeka some time. I'll teach you how to weld. It won't take long. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Nobody taught me. I just watched the DVD that came with my first welder and jumped in. I'm serious. PM me. I'll even throw in lunch!

Finally Tired of Antics on Graveyard Cars

I was wrong once too. It doesn't really matter, because if I ever won the lottery, I'd have my 69 Barracuda fastback COMPLETELY restified. I'd probably drop $300K on it, and I'd drive it. I'd be upside down to the tune of about $200K, but I wouldn't care. I'd have the most badass 69 Barracuda on...
