Big Issue on harnesses from Classic Industries

Those connectors come apart. Can you clean them up and use the connector housings? Just remove the terminals and stick the new wires into the old housings?

Thank you very much. I’m wanting to get rid of the bumper on my 80’s Dodge van and use a better looking bumper. Those measurements will help me a lot. Hope your health improves John. Joe

I have no experience with the Mod manifolds. But, with that huge, open plenum, I can understand why a single carb application is dog ****. Dual carbs might be better.

Solid Roller camshaft selection those of you running a 408 race application - lobe seperation

FWIW-the Bullet or smaller Comp get my vote. Overlap is 57.5 and 60.5 (respectively) compared to your current cam at 45. The Crower doesn’t look much different than your current one at first glance, but does increase overlap to 53 with more lift (dunno about valve springs with added lift and...

1965 Valiant LS Swap Final Update

Hey all, so I finally got the Valiant up and running, and I've been semi-daily driving it for around the last four months. I made a couple posts a while back detailing the build, and since then I've been mainly tackling exhaust and other small things. I was able to make the S10 LS Swap...

    8.75 rear change

I agree 100%. Man, you have no idea how many rear axles I've done in my lifetime. It seems everywhere I've worked I've been the only one that knew how to do them correctly, so I got them all. They all just kinda run together. LOL

And after checking mine tonight when I got home, I'm curious I'd there is enough meat there to work with. I'm thinking the runners may need to be built up where they meet the flange. It is a shame the Modman from Indy get such poor reviews. This scenario leads one to wonder which is the...

Maybe so without porting. Would take more than a "simple" port match. Getting that deep into it, I would have the gasket grooves welded up, then start the porting process.

    8 3/4 Sure grip information

Wow. That seems rather low. I've seen some specs show 800 foot pounds at the axle. That was like form some of the Moroso Brute Strength (clutch type) units. So 100-120 seems low and certainly 25. Does Dr Diff specify whether he tests at the axle or pinion? Regardless, I would certainly respect...

    8 3/4 Sure grip information

I can do it both ways at the pinion and axle. I tried it both ways on this old cone style sure grip. It was 25-foot pounds when I tested it both ways. Google said 100-120 foot pounds but it did not say cone versus clutch. Dr Diff website says he tests them to make sure they are 100-120 before he...

I’m gather parts for a 499ci mild build , I have the block and 4.015” eagle crank, eddy rpm intake, and headman headers. I’ll Probably use the 440 source rods and pistons. Not sure on cam and heads. I would like to find some aluminum heads and probably do a roller cam if I can.
  26. RustyRatRod

    8 3/4 Sure grip information

To my knowledge, the only "accurate" way to measure that would be to measure it at the pinion. Measuring at the axle is "going backwards" from how the sure grips are designed. Since they are torque sensing (clutch type more than cone type) they "ramp up" when torque is applied. So measuring at...

Big Issue on harnesses from Classic Industries

To the OP Did the harness have the M&H tag on it? I just completed engine and dash with an M&H harness and with the exception of the convertible courtesy light, everything connected and lined up correctly. You're past that point I'd say, but having the wiring diagram and labeling everything...
