The LSA is 111 says Lobe center line: 107 The 107 is what I was adjusting for! Was I supposed to adjust to the 226 \ 2 = 113 ?

And RRR, you need a refresher course in physics. Pressure & volume are two different entities. In terms of supplying fuel to a carb, there is no 'fighting' between the two. They work together. There would be no volume of fuel delivered to the carb without pressure.

Those don’t look any more tucked in than the Doug’s D453’s on my Duster. You can see 2/3 of the header flange below the frame rail. What’s the distance from the top of the header flange to the floorboard? Car looks like it sits high enough that header clearance isn’t much of an issue anyway.

Shep, You said the idle rpm increased when you increased initial timing to 30*. Does not surprise me at all. With other symptoms, all indicative of a bigger cam. So is the increased idle speed to keep the engine running, part of the 'cost' of a bigger cam.

Hi Folks Does the 1/8 feed line to an aftermarket mechanical oil pressure gauge need to be primed before connecting it to the gauge or does it get connected dry? In all honesty, I don't ever remember priming one. Thanks FABO

There is an error in post #1. 111 LSA, 107 ICL, 115 ECL. LSA should equate to ICL + ECL divided by 2, but it soesn't...

I borrowed a factory magnum head from a friend and found that the floor of the port was 0.450" from the deck and the ceiling was 2.600" So these "magnum" eq head ports are every bit of 1/8" off or more.

It appears what you did was the correct procedure, but you simply made a mistake somewhere. Happens all the time. No need for a senior citizen home. It's just a hunk of metal. You'll get it figured out.
