Thoughts on early vs. late Slants.

The '82 slant six in my truck has been sound and bullet proof. At a cold start after sitting for days it has less lifter noise than the solid cam slants. This truck has been in the family for 17 years.

Lightweight flywheel options and selection criteria.

For your application I would use the 20 lb steel. I did run a 12 lb aluminum wheel behind a 370hp LT1 in my 57 chevy, and I LOVED it! It revved so quick it was amazing, and I was still running the plastic 8.2 dropout rear end, so I did NOT need the heavy flywheel transferring a lot of torque...

They are off a 69 'Cuda He is firm on prices for tooling. I low balled him on the manifolds and he said no. I didn't want to spend near that...

What is a good stall to go with a 3:23 Sure Grip?

Thanks 4M...TCS out in Langley will build me a brand new one to exact spec for $1595 so I will be most likely going with that. My only issue is that I need a core to send them and my 904 didn't have one when I got the car....so if you (or anyone on here) has a junk one they want out of their...

[WANTED] Barracuda back window stainless trim

I found mine. Passenger side has two light dings on it while the drivers side is much worse. It has a more severe dent and has a twist to it. Here are some pictures of them. I tried to take pictures of the ding on the one on the right in the first picture but you can't really see it. If you are...

    Voltage regulator smoking?

My suggestion was to examine the main feeds from the alt and bat all the way to the ignition switch. Then examine the "ignition 1" circuit which feeds the alternator and the ignition. When you wrote "yes sir" I thought that's what you were going to do when the weather permitted. Follow the...

Lightweight flywheel options and selection criteria.

Good stuff. That's the one I was thinking of. I want it to rev best it can but I don't want it to be difficult to drive around town, which I intend to do regularly when the weather allows. Some good evening reading for me. Thank you.

Thoughts on early vs. late Slants.

You can also use a later magnum style roller bearing pilot bearing that sits in the crank register bore instead of inside like the older caveman style.. Also you won’t feel any difference between those two engines, the horsepower would be 5hp-10hp + or -. get a good distributor recurve and a...

    Holley 750 "stumbles" on WOT

If it ran fine with the tune up and just started doing it. I'd look at the accel pump diaphram. Fuels are hell on them now. Push down on the arm and it should move nice and smooth. Providing a nice shot of fuel. If it feels stiff, the diaphram may have gotten brittle. Then do it using...
