Feel like my 440 should be faster

That cam & a 3.23 axle are not going to be winners in the 'taking off' derby. Too many fail to take notice of the very high rod/stroke ratio of the 383/440 which prompted this warning.

Thoughts on early vs. late Slants.

That's why I used the word "some". I stand by it. I remember well a lot of the problems they had when they went to hydraulic lifters working on the line as first an apprentice and then by myself as a certified tech. They didn't all exhibit those issues, but those that did were plagued.

Cast cranks can withstand 500HP. The crank and reciprocating assembly are also much lighter than their forged crank brethrens.

    904 trans slipping

The 904 & its big brother the 727 were produced over a long period of time. Any trans shop worth it's name should be able to rebuild it for you.

Not to mention the removal and reinsertion. There is a repo but I understand it is not close to the OEM. I would have dove in but the other number was making it so I did not want to cut in.

Non-Mopar car you wish you had purchased?

I turned 16 in 1971 and bought a 68 Charger R/T for $1700. It was a really nice car. But, two weeks later, while out cruising around town and checking out car lots, I found a white 69 Boss 429 Mustang for $ 2100. Dang. I knew there was no way my parents were going to even talk about trading for...
