Finally get to pretend I am one of the cool kids - Holley kit swap

That would be the oil cooler that plumbs into the radiator hose and uses coolant to maintain a consistent temp. The one @Dantra has is like the Hellcat setup where the cooler is completely separate and plumbs to an external cooler that uses ambient air. They put the oil cooler like the 300 SRT...

Judging from past experience after rhe '94 Quake, never underestimate SoCal resiliency to BS despite Insurance concerns. Just saying as a concerned citizen/Insurance payer. I'm going through Insurance BS and waiting to hear how and at what costs awaits me on an years old Farmers policy. My...

Lightweight flywheel options and selection criteria.

Well I might as well get into this aluminum flywheel argument. I,ve been running aluminum flywheels on both of my cars for years now. Like Newbomb Turk said heavy flywheels and on off clutches should have been left back in the 60,s. My Dart is a 4 spd Jerico and weighs in at just over 3400# in...

Information on a 340 for my 69 dart

if it has to be 69, then you're looking for 1 year only timing cover. the waterpump is the same 65~69. this will also entail using the correct 22" radiator ($700) and shroud ($200) fan & clutch ($325) heads any of the 340/360 "letter heads" will suffice for the trainspotters-- X, J or O...

67-69 Dart Barracuda Valiant rear convert glass

I looked in the factory parts book and the is a listing for the rear curtain with a part number, in 67 I could find Dart and Valiant but not barracuda. I'll check again. I checked again this time in the 68 book: It is referring to the Barracuda (B-H) not the Valiant even though it is in the...

Your favorite road trip car ?

This might be fun and unfortunately controversial. I bought this Buick Roadmaster 4-5 years ago and still working out a few bugs but . . . I love this rig and swear it's the best car I've ever owned and driven. For a jaunt to the market with trunk space to long trips with the ride of an old...

    Beginning timing

Have the timing light hooked up and ready before it fires. Immediately after it fires, get the RPM up to about 3000 and pull in about 36-40 degrees of timing. This will assure you have enough timing for initial break in and it will not over heat from retarded timing.

I’ve been collecting small pieces of round bar and pipe as well as old bearing races for various jobs. I just toss them into a milk crate.

    Beginning timing

The trigger point of the ign is actually as the reluctor tip passes the trailing edge of the pole piece. It is hard to see so that is why it is better to the timing a litte advanced with a new engine.
