I am going to have to use a dropped base. Problem with an Air Gap and a Holley Electric Choke is apparently the Choke clearance. I will tackle this after it is running.

It looks like your Dart has no AC or heater controls. If that is correct you maybe able to access the old speaker easier than 99% of dart owners. Just remove the facade around the radio and look at your access.

What intake and carb?

On my build thread I noted I would probably have to go to a dropped base. On some of the treads on this subject with an Air Gap style intake a few people had a stock cleaner clear. I went out tonight and tried to get a better feel for the height. I think I am going a completely different route...

I will trial fit before I make it permanent. I have seam sealer. I was worried about the heat if that would be an issue. All good advice.

I cut the small ridge on the new base and now the stock filter fits fine.

My question is: What can I use as a sealant between the new base and old base? I plan on using a few rivets but want to seal between the two bases. Is heat going to be an issue? Is gasket sealant a good item?

Looks like a good find. Get a good idea on the budget you are going to need. You will be in over 10K as soon as paint comes into play. That may make you focus on just getting it to run and stop and have some fun!!

I want to use a stock air cleaner. Take the 2 barrel to a 4 barrel. I ordered a generic base and cut the stock base out. Before final assembly I need to locate an air filter that is about 9 3/4 diameter and stock height and do a trial fit. If it does not clear on to a drop base.

Looking under the console at the light socket, I see a second build sheet. The first one was behind the back seat.

Question 1 How many under dash courtesy lights? I could only locate one on the passenger side. I am get better lighting tomorrow to look again. Question 2 Should they operate independently of the jam switches with the Map Light Switch? Question 3 Is the dome light tied in? Thanks

Radiator was original. I had it tanked and tested. I wanted to use the original if possible. The water pump is for a 318 1970. It feeds to the radiator differently on the bottom. We will use 2 to make one hose that will work.

Final pieces going on. We have the brake bias on order. Radiator hoses, 10 AWG and a few other items. I have a small Autometer Tach and two gauges that should be here by this weekend. I didn’t realize the radiator from the original motor was fed differently than the 318. It is hard to sort...

The Eagle has landed! Other than me ordering the wrong Master Cylinder and not ordering some things I over looked, it has gone fairly smooth. I will pick it up tomorrow and bring it back when the rest of the items show up.

PS I have 3 4 post lifts in this garage. I went smaller with this one, but depending on the size of the cars I have had 8-9 on one side and 2 in my other side. I am thinning the herd so it creates a lot of floor space.

Motor and Transmission are back together. Lokar kick down kit ordered. I got a last minute text - Can you bring it now? An hour later it was delivered. Since I wasn’t expecting to send it to Chad’s, I had disassembled the Ammeter bulkhead inside and out and he will have to put it back together...
