    Valve cover gaskets

I have Edelbrock heads and rpm intake. Mopar performance valve covers hit the intake, don’t sit flush. Are people doubling up on the gasket or trimming the valve cover gasket to make them fit? TIA (Edit). upon further searching it appears notching the cover is common. I’ll go that route.

    Desktop dyno question

Just got DesktopDyno 5. Figuring it out, but for those of you that have it I got a question. I have 9.5/1 compression, and Edelbrock RPM heads which list a 63cc chamber. The program only lets me put in the compression ratio, then figures out the combustion space at 98cc. Is that correct? Or...

What should I expect from 450hp?

Got a 408 a 3350# Duster, estimate 450-475hp. This is a street only car--4spd, 3:23 gears with 245/60-15 BF Goodrich's. I got a Holley sniper so can look at datalogs. If I am in first gear rolling along at about 2000rpm and mash it, it takes about 1.75 seconds to get to 6000rpm. Only...

    What 408 timing settings?

Hi People. Got a 408, 9.5cr, Edelbrock heads with some work but don't have flow numbers. Cam is Lunati 20200712, 231/239 @ .050, .535/550 lift. TTI headers. I have had a Holley sniper efi on it for a couple years, was running good but it has the ability to control timing so enabled that...

    Oil filter adapter gasket

Searched but couldn’t find my answer. Shouldn’t there be a gasket or washer between the center piece and the plate?

    To turn or not

i got a sb in storage on a stand. Loosened rocker arms, drained the oil and put oil (may have been Marvel Mystery oil) in the cylinders. Would you spin it periodically? Or would that wipe the oil film off the cylinders and bearings?

    Engine change questions

my 340 is coming out and a magnum block 408 going in. Would torque settings for things like headers, flywheel, water pump and such be the same between the two? Also, my Schumacher motor mounts sit offset. Is that normal?

    Storing engine in unheated garage

Looked at other threads, this wasn't addressed. I got my 340 out of the car, will be storing it in a unheated garage on a stand. Cars normally stored in a heated garage so antifreeze is just protected to a little under 0F. It will get much colder that that here. Sounds like best way to drain...

    dropping down

Thinking of removing my engine, 70 Duster 340/a833 to clean up the engine compartment this winter. Thinking of lowering the k frame instead of lifting it out. Three questions: How much does engine/tranny/kframe weigh? Will a hoist hooked onto a carb lift plate hold it? RPM air gap, will...

    Air gap water passages?

70 Plymouth 340. Installing a RPM Air Gap intake. I noticed that the manifold does not have water passages, the heads do. Is that correct?

    hole in block?

Was under my Duster, 70 with 340 and noticed a hole in the block right by the starter. Never noticed this before. It's about an inch around not sure how deep. What is it, and it is supposed to be open like this?

    Another hesitation thread

I have a 70 Duster, 340 that I’ve been trying to get the hesitation out of. Read a lot of threads here and tried different things but still am not happy with it. Just day to day driving it is OK acceleration, but if I get firm or harder on it, it initially feels like it wants to go, then...
