    '64 Barracuda brake pedal pivot

The brake pedal is pretty sloppy on the pivot tube, is there supposed to be a bushing between the two? Thin sleeve of nylon, maybe?

    Lifter question

If it's a totally stock original engine, it has solid lifters. Anything could have been changed in the last 55-60 years, so, the only way to know for sure is what 69FBCuda said, take off a valve cover and look. Adjustable rockers, and it's likely a solid lifter setup. I'd get a good light and...

    Will a reaar end, springs and driveshaft from a 70 Dart 2dr fit in a 66 2dr?

The torque converter won't unless your engine crankshaft is later than '67. You would either need to build a custom converter with the small snout, or change the front pump assembly on the transmission to the earlier style....like maybe off your old transmission? The driveshaft will depend on...

A potential problem with Super Sixing my 1973 Duster.

That's what I did on my '62. I was never happy with how the weld itself came out (sloppy/ugly) but the graft job did work. Make sure to take a big enough circle out of the donor 2bbl air cleaner to clear all the sticky-outy parts* near the top of the carb. *technical term

Classic/vintage car as a daily driver.

Anything and everything wears out eventually. Back in "the day", most everyone drove their vehicle daily until it broke down and traded in for a new one OR set "aside"out in the fence row. How did people (we)drive them daily back then?????? How did they (we) drive a vehicle with points...

What's this car that I saw at the junkyard today?

If your serious, I just bought a 78 aspen Super Coupe shell. I had it shipped out of Utah. It has the OE flairs, spoilers and gas cap (rough). I was going to 6.1/TKO it since the drivetrain is gone. It hasn't come out of the trailer since it arrived, I'm horrible with impulse buying. PM me if...

front of engine set up for 1969

so a few pieces of info to clarify: forged to cast change happened mid year in 1972 so you might have a forged engine depending on when the engine was built as opposed to when the car was assembled. You have to match the timing cover, the harmonic balancer, both 69 and down or 70 and up. They...

Is it really necessary to modify the crossmember for a dual exhaust?

Check out Laysons Transmission Cross member Conversion for Dual Exhaust Layson's Restorations has come up with a solution to the Ugly Low Hanging exhaust. The factory cross members for 1963-66 A-body Mopars did not have a factory cutout on the passenger’s side. This causes any Dual Exhaust...

1bbl carb takes a 2-1/8" diameter air cleaner base hole 2bbl carb takes a 2-5/8" diameter air cleaner base hole Your mod is clever, but that sharp edge won't seal well, so dirt will get in even before the sharp edge slices through the air cleaner/carb gasket.

Maybe a dumb question, but will an aluminum manifold handle the weight of a fully dressed big block from the carb studs?

Are 66's mistakenly lumped in with 2nd gen darts by parts manufactrers?

It depends on the part. '66 started linkage shift transmissions, disc brakes option, 8 3/4 option, slip yoke transmissions, the later version of V8 intakes and heads, etc. That being said, some manufacturers are not Mopar fluent and make mistakes.

  26. cudamark

Is it really necessary to modify the crossmember for a dual exhaust?

Not totally necessary. It's just that the RH pipe will stick down a bit to clear the crossmember. I have one car with duals and the pipe has never bottomed out, but, it doesn't have the nice clean tucked up look that most people would want.

Scam Alert - 1970 exhaust tips on Facebook

Thanks for the alert! There should be a law against these scammers. FB is full of these a**holes. It would be too good for them to be hung up, quartered and gutted. (to explain to the younger crowd, would be too graphic!)

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Just googling.... That was almost 900miles from epicenter. Mitch is another 550mi. So I would guess not much if they even felt it. But it does look like it focused more in SE direction and not far the other way. A lot of that depends how the plates run.
