Stop in for a cup of coffee

I just got done prepping the range for a ladies only class today. There was so much wind yesterday it was pointless. Classroom is squared away and range looks good for the ladies. We have 15 ladies here today for a basic pistol class. They are by a wide margin the largest growing segment in our...

    Another spring question (72 Demon)

i'd call pete and order the eaton springs he sells.. they seem to match the 1.08 bars pretty well.. i have the 1.08 bars with their stock height ones on our dart.. i think they are 130ish pond springs. pete would know. i also run bilstein shocks which made a huge difference in ride quality...

    Slant 6 ignition

You are faulting the ignition when the carb is so pig fat Rick it’s no wonder it’s dropping holes. Get some fuel out of it go from there. You are way too rich and it’s not even close.

Follow up test with a CDI ignition

No need for me to do it. I know the answer. I’ll wait for someone else to spend the time and effort to show how wrong I am. That should be very easy to do if I’m wrong.

    1971 360 question

I haven’t seen an engine that can actually use 1/2 of idle vacuum and have it be correct. No where have I read Holley claim it’s a starting point, and if they have they never tell how to tune from there. Even Holley doesn’t practice what they preach. How so you ask? I can find several examples...

Remote mount the sensor on the firewall as a test. Being mounted on the engine has been known to cause problems killing sensors and making them read erratic from vibration. At least on Holley and haltech etc anyway.

    BB Engine Removal

Have you considered dropping the K member, and just lifting the car, securing engine to it, then dropping the car down on it and re-securing the K member?

    Another spring question (72 Demon)

On the Hotchkis springs; is it the front bracket that makes them lower, or the springs themselves? I have 3/4” relocation brackets, so if I do run the Hotchkis springs, I won’t be using their front mounts.

    1971 360 question

I get "sense" from your posts, it just seems to me that you have a narrow understanding of a complicated topic and think that repeating the same very specific advice to everyone is good for them regardless of the situation. You say you don't recommend any idle timing numbers, but yet you'll...

    Slant 6 ignition

Nope, not hotter plugs. There are '4' s in there now, which are already a hot plug. The fluffy black spark plug electrodes suggest a very rich mixture, such as the choke partially closed.

Is it really necessary to modify the crossmember for a dual exhaust?

Here's what my right side pipe looked like with factory 340 manifolds and the stock crossmember before I went to TTI headers and X-pipe exhaust and did modify the crossmember. I don't think it hung down as low as when I had fenderwell headers on it. In fact, I'm not sure it hung down any lower...

Glad you made it so far. Keep getting better. It can take a while, but it can be done, too. I spent 3 months in the hospital and another three months in rehab in the spring through the fall of 2012. Lotta people thought I wasn't gonna make it, but 13 years later, here I still am and I can...

What's your biggest, best, funniest most bone-headed move related to your car?

    - Powershifting from 3rd to 2nd at the drag strip. I swear I could count the milliseconds between when found 2nd, heard the engine pitch, and stabbed the clutch back in. This departure from the normal procedure ( 3rd to 4th) immediately commanded my full attention. 2) I was vacationing in mx...

Changing engine mounts with engine installed

Yes it will. Hopefully you put a 2x4 under the oil pan. It spreads the load so you don't damage the pan.
