    Looks like I learned something today! I did look it up, and it turns out that dielectric grease is better than vaseline though, even though both are non-conductive. Thanks guys :thumbsup:

    Knocked some core plugs in her, and got the cam bearings installed with my hydraulic cam bearing installation tool. This tool was crazy expensive, but it makes bearing installation a breeze. No more hammering them in the old way!

    FWIW I added the 68-70 340 manifolds and the TTI kit to my dad's 70 318. All bolt in. One of the best upgrades that we did.

    So got a little more done, all the machine work is complete, got it final washed and ready for assembly. @Earlie A is supposed to buy this thing when we are done, so per his request I shot it with Chrysler red, although it shows up more orange in the pictures.

    Yes it is. I had a maintenance guy back in the 80's smearing a thin layer of dielectric grease on 3 inch hockey puck diodes in a Dynapower DC rectifier. It smoked everyone of them and we couldn't anodize anything until I could order a complete set and resurface all the copper compression...

    I'm not sure. Someone post a pinion shim baseline for rear ends I just can't find it. but you can buy a crush collar eliminator to make things simpler. You then can shim it like the 741/742 housings...
