That ‘87 318 is a good motor, especially if it’s a roller. Put a good intake, carb, headers, mild cam and dual timing chain with a metal gear on it and it will move that Dart around just fine. If you decide on the 360 just remember it’s externally balanced and the 318 is internally balanced

Right, that winch should be able to dead lift 4500#. A car that rolls is a lot less, unless you’re dragging it with no wheels/tires, brakes/transmission locked up, frame on the ground, etc.

I would think you’d need a cam and any 2 of: better intake, better head, higher comp pistons, or better exhaust manifolds for 65hp, even on a 440, unless they were playing a numbers game with the ratings to begin with
