This is exactly correct. A round shaped u-bolt on the clamped area will indent an 8-3/4 housing with factory torque even though that torque is low.

Dibbons, I did finally find the GZ-88148 clips I bought from Laysons. They appear to be correct (although lacking the pad). They fit nicely in the trim. The 2nd picture shows one in the trim next to one of my factory clips.

Is this what happened? I thought I read the part was marked "Broader Performance" or the equivalent trademark on it.

You can store a lot of parts on shelves of the type you referenced. I think I bought mine from Lowes or HD. They rescued me from a lot of clutter.

See post #286. Did you try the GZ-88148 clips that Rick posted? I remember buying those from Laysons but I'll be damned if I can find them to compare to my originals. I think I just bought them and stored them away somewhere without comparing.

Yeah, I bought the same replacement pedal, no pad. My original is still in the car. The wear pad on mine fell on floor at the race track. I bummed some silicone off a helpful racer nearby and slapped it back on. Made the next round which I probably lost. : ) The pad is still on there today.

Can you give me any history on intake manifold? Original Chrysler part or aftermarket Edelbrock? Milled in any way? Condition including threads? Pictures of head mating surfaces would help. I could not find that info on FEBO forum. Thank you.

I am not sure I see the problem. "Holes drilled off center"? Your pictures don't necessarily show that.
