    Hi guys! decided to go to electric fan and worried about my alternator. Currently have a NAPA rebuilt that I bought for a 71 Dart with A/C. Don't have A/C, but run an in tank fuel pump. No fancy stereo, no power anything. The fan I'm looking at draws 25 amps. So...... will my current alt be enough?

    What solid roller lifters are you running in your LA non roller block

    BAM Pro solids.(the old MRL lifter) .815 roller with internal oiling. Those Comp 828's are splash oiled. I have run the BAM's in 3 engines now and they have been rock solid. Current engine does have lifter bores bushed, but i have run them in a bone stock block twice. they are kind of pricey...

    Bush the lifter bores and run BAM Pro lifters......pricey? Yeah. But worth it in my mind. Control oil flow AND correct the crap factory tolerances all in one shot. Just my solution.

    Lots of help! Pic 2 above is exactly what's on the spade connector closest to the main "hot" post on my alt. Same colors too. I'm running a FAST box with 2 step and MSD distrib and coil. Factory stuff loooooong gone. Although I still have it all, somewhere.

    I get the feeling pic number 2 is what I'm dealing with. I got the car in 2008 and all this was done already. I'd like to know for sure but don't want to hack in to my harness. It's all still fairly tidy. How do guys convert to 1 wire alternators?

    Thanks, kuda. I guess I certainly don't need that 3rd wire plugged in then. No more ballast resistor. There's actually 2 wires connected to the regulator spade. Does that sound right?

    My 71 Demon has 3 wire connections and was hoping someone could help me . Of course the main hot post, then there are 2 smaller spade connections. I THINK one goes to my voltage regulator. The other one, I have no idea what it's for. I no longer have a ballast resistor or the factory ignition...

    No real complaining here. In fact I kind of enjoy the work. The issue is the price. It should reflect the "needs finishing" part.
