Nope your definitely not the only one... me too. Unfortunately I don't have any info for you as I was searching this forum for tips myself.
I think I'll go to the U-Pull-It yard and do some investigation.
Joe
That is bad ***... I am going to go custom with mine too and you now have me looking in whole new direction for my '75 Duster.
I like the mesh look.
Joe
Hmmm.. I hadn't thought about that yet. The car's still on the rotisserie and the interior isn't even on my mind yet. Good catch. I will have to look at it.
The tail light flush mount you were talking about is something I am looking at as well. My Duster is a 75.
Bumpers, yep, I'm gonna...
Anyone out there ever try to do flush mount glass for their classic Duster? I am doing some slight mods along the way with my car to give it a bit more modern feel; changing out door handles for something more stream lined and shaving the drip rails, marker lights and lock cylinders.
Well I...
I used a propane torch and a scraper.... it sucked. If you still have any interior in there you could wind up with a carbeque if your not careful. All I'm saying is I wouldn't use a torch underneath if you still have the carpet on the floor or it will most certainly catch fire or melt on you...
Good luck to ya man... I can't imagine going through it. These guys here, that have replied and offered their support, sound like a good bunch and seem to have some good sound advice.
I hope it works out for you.
Take care,
Joe
That is a cool-*** bed.
The way that dog's gonna grow; he might fall asleep one night and wake up the next morning stuck in that bed. He's is a cool lookin' pup too!
On another note; I checked out your Duster in your sig as well. I like it in all black. Mine should be ready to paint in...
I would guarantee you that guy on the bike did something really stupid (read illegal) somewhere down the street and took off on his bike after being told to stop by the cops.
You may be able to outrun the foot cop, but you can't outrun the radio. They don't mess around in NY man. I am sure...
Man .. this is too funny. I am just glad that no one used this line
:worthles:
in this thread.
Oh.. and that little "Booty shorts" pic in CudaChick's sig could be trouble for you right now... so avert your eyes. :-D
I was thinking I would say something like.. Get well soon... but it...
I am curious how some of you have completed the relocation of the wheel well specifically at the frame rail; The frame rail has a lip on the top where it meets the trunk pan that rolls out to the outside of the rail (about a .75 inch lip).
My question is when you mini-tubbed it did you...
I don't know about Go Mango but the Hemi Orange is iridescent as well. I have a 75 Duster that, at this point, will be painted in Hemi Orange. Of course this is the 3rd color scheme I have picked and I still have plenty of prep work to do; so it could change.
I do like the Go Mango though...
Wow! That is incredible. It is amazing what you find out there in this hobby. I think once you fix it correctly, you may actually shave 100 pounds of the car! If you add up the bondo and metal coupons!
Good luck, be daring and don't give up.
Joe
I just saw this thread. I have 75 Duster that I just took the windshield out of about 3 months ago. It had the gasket and locking gasket (i.e. 2 piece), not that it helps you now. 8)
Just FYI.
Joe
Actually that is about the only way you can comfortably play a Les Paul style git on your lap. Otherwise the it's too far back and feels awkward to me, but then again I have Fenders and haven't spent much time behind an LP.
Guitars and Mopars! It doesn't get much better than that.
Here is...
I really think the initial intent of the thread was to provide a resource for learning a few new moves. So maybe this young lady on YouTube can help you all add some moves to your repertoire on the dance floor.

If nothing else it should help...
Is this the Rust Mort your talking about?
http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/sem69508.html
I am assuming that this would take care of any flash rusting or mild surface rust before applying the Epoxy Primer, correct?
Then based on the previous post; if there are any areas with a bit more...
I have always intended to paint the underside the same color as the body, I am assuming this is the normal practice. At any rate I like the look of it. So the Rust Encapsulator can be painted over with the Epoxy Primer right?
I am assuming that since it has been sand blasted there is no need...
