    72 Dodge Demon 340 $150

Wish I could come get it I am sure it has a couple things I need for my demon but I don't have a trailer that would make it that far. Good luck, hate to see it crushed.

    Core support replace or rebuild?

The previous owner decided it was a good idea to try and pull my car by hooking to the lower valance and he tore the core support in the process. I have put about three hours into trying to get it straight enough to get it in position to tack it on and work it back into place, but it is messed...

    '79 Jeep Cherokee Golden Eagle

I am selling my Cherokee to help buy a daily driver 4x4. Cherokee has 360/th400/qt w/low and 798xx original miles. new fuel tank, new radiator, water pump, plugs, wires, hoses, tires, rebuilt carb, and some other minor stuff. runs great and is in good shape. Needs to be buffed another time to...

    413 with 727 and a slant 6

I have a chrysler 413 and 727 transmission for sale. It came out of a motor home so the transmission has a trans brake. I was going to use it for a project, but I found a 440 so I don't need it anymore. I don't know if it runs, but everything is there. The rv had 60k miles on it when I pulled...

Dana 60 full or semi floating?

Thanks guys I will keep my eye out for one. Maybe I can find one with a posi and 35 spline axles. I'll head to the junkyard.

Dana 60 full or semi floating?

I want a Dana 60 for my demon, does it matter if it's full floater since I have to narrow it? Would it be any harder to narrow than a semi floater? Where do I find the parts I'll need when I narrow it? Thanks

    72 demon core support

here's another. It's worse than it looks because it is twisted, otherwise I would just put it back in place and weld it.

    72 demon core support

Thanks for the info. I will try to find a car to get one from. Since all of the damage is on the lower half could I do as Oneofmany said and cut the lower half of the core off mine and the donor and weld the new piece in? Would there be any drawbacks?

    72 demon core support

Would the new core have to come from a demon or could it be from a duster or other a body?

    72 demon core support

I started taking my demon apart and found out that when the p.o. tried to move it he not only tore up the lower valance, but also the core support. It is messed up pretty bad on the bottom from the left framerail to the middle. Is it possible to change the core support? If so, how hard and does...

How do I tell cast or forged?

It is either j440t or t440j. I believe it is the first one. I am sure it has a forged crank now.

How do I tell cast or forged?

I was just wanting to make sure. I thought it might be different since mine does not have the hd stuff like the brake and short tailshaft on the trans, but it's not.

How do I tell cast or forged?

I would Have to say it is forged then. It is about 3/4 to 1 in thick and looks more like a round solid weight than a balancer. That is good to know. Now if I could just remember where I planted that money tree maybe I could get my demon on the road.

How do I tell cast or forged?

I picked up my 440 and in my other thread someone said it could have a forged crank. How can I tell without tearing the motor down? The casting number on the block is 3698830-440-5 if that helps, and it is date coded 7-30-72.

    440 from an rv?

I didn't know to look if it was internal or externally balanced, but it is a 440 either way. I will probably put a cam and intake in it and drive it til it needs to be refreshed. It has 79k on it. I have a lot of work to do before the car will be ready for it. I saw it and did not want to pass...

    440 from an rv?

Ok, so I went and checked it out. It is a '73 not a '71, 440 with 452 heads. The trans has the long tailshft and no trans brake. I am going to pick it up as soon as he gets it out.

    440 from an rv?

Where would the casting numbers be located? The casting numbers on the block shoul tell me the cubic inches and the year right? Also, could I use the trans if I found a car or truck 727 for the tailshaft and other parts to make it work? Would a small block trans have the right tailshaft and...

    440 from an rv?

I am going to look at a 440 with presumably a 727 in a 71 Winnebago tommorow. Is there anything different about the rv motors that would make the swap into my demon more difficult? The guy is going to sell it with all accessories and wiring. I just want to know if there is any major difference...

worst way to take a starter off

I'm in se texas. I really want a 440 and have a lead on a guy who is suppose to have a couple, but haven't got to talk with him yet. My uncle has a '79 d250 with a 360 that I am trying to beat him out of because the truck is beat up and rusted out. Would that truck have a 727 in it? Would...

worst way to take a starter off

The motor had oil in it but I don't think it had pressure yet. I have never had an issue with motors that have sat. My '48 cj2a sat for 16 years and it had no problems, nor my dad's '68 land cruiser and it sat for 19 years. I think that it must have been knocking and that is why it got parked...

worst way to take a starter off

I bought my demon in november and I just started working on it this weekend. I am planing to swap in a v8, but just wanted to see if the old /6 would run. I put a battery in and worke on getting fire to the plugs. I got fire and put a little gas in the carb and after a while of cranking it fired...
