    curiosity made an argument!

This topic makes me curious as to what front end a 74 Scamp is. I think I've seen the same front on a Plymouth duster, is that right? Would the fenders of a duster fit the 74 Scamp front end? Sorry to take it a bit off topic. I vote for 67-69 and then 70. *Rogue

    how much is it worth?

This is a good thread because my wife and I just pulled out or /6 and am looking to sell it and we are getting ideas of prices and demand. The /6 has been worked a little bit with a multi-angle valve job, Isky cam, newer pistons. $300 with trans sound right?

Hello all, I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm trying to remove the fenders along with the radiator support from my 74 Scamp, I've removed all the bolts and they still wont budge. I don't see any spot welds, are these panels gorilla glued into place? What is the best technique to keep them in...

    Dana 60 Lug conversion help

It is from a 79 ford 250. So it would be an easy swap if I took it to a drive train shop to cut it up and add the proper axles? A ball park figure, how much would this cost? Would it be difficult to add disk brakes to it? Thanks

    Dana 60 Lug conversion help

I have the chance to buy a Dana 60 from an old ford truck. The only problem I see is that it is an 8 lug and I don't know if I can get it converted to 5 lug BBP. The Dana 60 is a full floating axles with limited slip. Would this be a good choice for my 74 Scamp and how much would the...

74 Scamp Fenders, hood and the likes.

I'm looking for new fenders for the 74 scampy scamp and was wondering where I can get some? I do like the look of the 71-72 Darts/Duster and was wondering if I could swap that front end easily, also I know that AAR makes fiberglass fenders for the 71-72 and don't know anyone that has metal...

    Fiberglass fenders on the street?

I seem to be having a difficult time finding any replacement front fenders for my 1974 Scamp. Anyone know where I can find either the steel or the fiberglass ones for the 74? Is there a different car that uses the same fenders that can be interchanged? Thanks all, *Rogue

    383 Flat top pistons.

I've read so many negative comments about KB pistons, I've become very wary when I think of their parts. I understand the hyperuetics are better than cast but not too much better and forged (the speed pro are) will be much stronger. Am I wrong in thinking that the KB's are bad/not good? I...

    383 Flat top pistons.

I've been looking into the Speed Pro forged flat top pistons for my 383. I'll have 2.14 intake and 1.81 exhaust valves. My question is, since the pistons do not have valve reliefs, will I need a piston with valve reliefs or should I be fine? If it will be ok, what ball park figure would max...

Thank you for a great site.

Some updated photos of the car. While I was working on taking out the front windshield (rust under the seals and cracked), my wife took care of the interior. We found so much money under the carpets (like change in the couch) that I think it paid for the car. Before: After:----When the...

Thank you for a great site.

haha, It was literally in the back of a bus, were the back seats would be in an old military transport bus. We had to build a ramp to 'slide' it out. haha, it was a fun time. They knocked money off the asking price because it was so "fun." It smells like the block has the WHOLE farm stuck...

    Dent in body line.

According to the receipts that I have when we bought the car, the paint was done for $4000.00 some four years ago and who every did it did a bad job. We're going to repaint it and am not worried about the current paint chipping or cracking. Are paintless dent repair companies typically pretty...

    Dent in body line.

I'm not worth much when it comes to body work but I want to improve my skills and practice. I'm willing to try and try again until I get it right, so that is why I ask you this; How would I get this dent out that is in the body line? I circled the spot in red but it may not have shown up well...

OC, I'll post some more pictures just because you said that this thread with worthless. :-D This motor sat for 23 years in the back of a bus. It is filthy and this stuff is caked on. In some parts, the gunk was about 2 inches thick. I'll be making custom door panels shortly. We're...

    383 Stock strength

In my "Welcome Wagon" post, I said that my wife and I are wanting to produce about 400hp and max 450hp. There are a many things that I don't know about the internals of any Mopar and was wondering: What is the max HP that the stock connecting rods can handle? (ours are in great shape) Should...

I met my wife freshman year in High school. We were always good friends, then she moved to AZ, I missed her so much that I married her. Well, not quite like that. There are more out there, you'd be surprised how many out there actually enjoy cars and working on them. Thanks all for the...

I'm originally from Chicago and I moved to Lake City for a few months. I have family in Jonesboro, Leachville, Manila and Cherry Valley. I will be parting out the /6 along with the trans. I have paperwork for the car that heads were ported, has and Isky cam and many other things done to it...

Thank you for a great site.

Thanks for the kind words Chasduster. The rims are actually from a Mustang (they were on there when we bought the car). We get compliments on it everywhere we go in it. We know that it needs some body work as there are some dings and a little bit of rust to the exterior. The floor pans and...

Thank you for a great site.

My wife and I were looking for a project car and found a 74 Scamp to be the car to work on. Once we got it home and drove it around with the built up /6, we realized that we want a big block under the hood. My wife and I have found a 383 that was $250 and in good shape. We've started tearing...

    440 crank in 383 block

I apologize if this doesn't necessarily fit in this thread but it will help me decide if I go with a 440 crank. I have a 1969 383 that came out of an Imperial. I don't have the dampener that came with the motor and I don't know if the crank is forged, cast and would like to know how I can find...
