small block with power steering, came factory with thompson pump, motor was pulled when I got it and did not have pump sould i just put firm feel manual or spend the 300 on the pump and brackets from yearone and taking the risk of having to rebuild the factory power steering gear box, real soon...

when i got the car 68 318 barracuda , did not have pump, where can I get one? year one has them but they wont 300 for it and brakets

have a 68 barracuda which had 318 in it. When I bought it ,did not have power steering pump, book says its a thompson pump. Can they be interchanged? if not, anyone have any suggestions. Don't want to spend $300 for pump and brakets.
