    Whats it worth? 72 Swinger

Being from Vancouver and considering the market here (may be different on the island?) I would say it's work $2000-2500 easy but actually getting 2k for it is another story. Hell I'll give you $500 just for the seats and steering wheel! And Id probably take that rear valance as well.

1971 Scamp. Here I go again, a little wiser I hope.

I learned so much building the Dart but I'm going to do it again anyway. This Time the donor is in much better condition and is already a 360 car with 8 3/4, disk all the way around, tubular suspension, all the glass, no rust (aside from a little surface) no dents or holes...... the bad news? No...

Hey it's a "What about this combo?" thread!!!

Ok, I believe I'm capped by the Demon at 650cfm, the 360 is about 300hp and I have 150hp No2 my original goal was 500-550hp @ 6000 rpm and 12psi before nitrous, of course I keep getting greedy and wanting more power, but truth is bottom end, rear, trans and wallet wont take much more and I...

Hey it's a "What about this combo?" thread!!!

Sorry if it sounded like I was quoting you Prine, I merely wanted to say that this combo is not going to happen, based largely on your advice that they were too restrictive, so I'm looking at my options, I'm not in the $4000 twin turbo bracket so I am open to creative ideas, after seeing the...

Hey it's a "What about this combo?" thread!!!

Yes they are off cummins, I figured I could run external wastegates at the manifolds. Prine has convinced me not to use a T3 exhaust housing, means I'm on the search for twins, I was thinking about HX40's or a single garrett from a 7.3 diesel that I got with the cold side piping I bought off...

Hey it's a "What about this combo?" thread!!!

can I swap the exhaust wheel in the 99 one with one from a 96 to equalize them? I assume the 96 is the prime candidate for a twin build since it is the smallest waste gated HX35 there is.

Hey it's a "What about this combo?" thread!!!

OK well here is what I got so far, I was surprised there would be such a difference because they are both for a 5.9 Cummins and only a few years apart but I already figured out that they are separated by about 35hp so I'm thinking I'm screwed. #1 1996 Cummins 5.9 HX35W 3534921 12cm housing t3...

Nice work! Seriously how much to make me some headers cus those are beautiful!

Hey it's a "What about this combo?" thread!!!

I'm looking for opinions because I'm at a crossroads. I have been collecting parts for my turbo build for about a year and of course keep dreaming bigger. So far I have a Holset HX35W set at 20psi, a Mighty Demon 650 Blow thru, an intercooler from a 135i twin turbo, a 52mm BOV, hedman tight...

Twin scroll is it necessary to separate the cylinders on a V8?

Hiya, so on a twin scroll design where the turbine housing is divided to separate the exhaust pulses do you think it is necessary when used on a V8 to channel the manifold all the way to the flange? wont it pulse since it is only getting half of the exhaust anyway? It seems like the problem it...

If I could change just one thing around here....

Well it is a diatribe about a PS to manual swap going wrong as much as it is about stickies. If someone searches "PS" "Swap" "Manual" I wanted them to find this post. And to all that are saying the board would be empty if we answered all the questions.. I'm not saying post every answer or the...

If I could change just one thing around here....

:sign3: That's sort of my point, lack of stickies creates redundant posting which makes searching futile. I love search, I would much rather figure it out on my own than let everyone tear me apart for not knowing everything already.

If I could change just one thing around here....

Stickies!!! Seriously the same questions get asked over and over again, if you do a search for any given subject you get a bunch of posts where half the problems, pitfalls and tricks are answered and if you check the right 3 posts you can piece it together, but miss one and your sol. A post with...

Can anyone explain BOV spring ratings to me?

Oh and Mad while I'm on the subject am I correct in my assumption I only need one BOV? I realize you have two because you have two inter coolers but is that the only reason? Do you think each turbo needs it's own for equalization? Or even in your setup couldn't you get away with one if it...

Can anyone explain BOV spring ratings to me?

So the rating is the base psi it will operate it at and it can be adjusted from there? A 11 psi spring means it would not work on a 10psi system because its too stiff... now I get it, thanks MD!
  16. Jimmy

Can anyone explain BOV spring ratings to me?

Ok so best I can figure it in a twin Turbo blow through system that uses a single fmic only one BOV is necessary as it is plumbed into the intake pipe before the plenum and after the fmic, that being said most of the BOVs I have seen the springs are rated at 11psi or less. I'm not planning on...

    74 Swinger, wish me luck!

well got kicked out of my underground, but not before we dropped in the new 360 :headbang: got everything hooked and almost got the fmic in before the strata came down on me! It runs great, sounds horrible because of loose manifolds but I got the new hedman tight tubes for the twin turbo so...

blown 440 Alky swap, how much will it cost?

I just knew I didn't want to throw more money at the 318, the alky was attractive but I knew it would be a lot more work. I knew what I wanted, just looked into something new for a second, my worst fears confirmed and added to, so I'm over it. Again thanks all, found a 360 long block bored .30...

blown 440 Alky swap, how much will it cost?

Ya the whole 1994 5.9 Magnum with trans is $500 so even if I just pillage the heads not too bad. Big blocks are more hassle than they are worth, in my budget range anyway.

blown 440 Alky swap, how much will it cost?

ya Im over it, dollar to hp was exciting, but it was the first time I have even looked at a BB and no, I'm not up for it. I'm in Canada, everything costs $1000. And yes if I'm dropping money on heads it would be aftermarket or at least some really well built stock ones, so replacing one means...

blown 440 Alky swap, how much will it cost?

I'm really thinking I would convert back to gas, I can't afford a new blower plus all the modifications I would need to make to handle that kind of power, I figure it would be more like 700hp with a 8 point cage capable of low 10's. will my 8 1/4 have to go? if so what are my best options? I...

blown 440 Alky swap, how much will it cost?

Ok I have a 74 dart, it has a 318 that I have been building with the idea of adding a turbo so it has 360 heads, Mighty Demon BT carb, air gap, 150hp nitrous, Mallory pump and boost ref reg, msd ignition/coil/dist/mini starter, intercooler, T6 Garret turbo, nicely rebuilt 904 with 3000 stall, 8...

been awhile but here are some update pics, still have the turbo manifolds and another layer of paint to go

    340 heads on a 318?

throw on some 360 heads, better mileage. Save up the money you saved on gas for a year and when you get bored with the lack of power install a turbo and it will thank you for the low compression with the ability to push more psi. Cost = $0 :---)

    Anyone tired of this ???

All I know is I would have saved a small fortune if I had someone else do the work for me, and the car would have been done, so who writes big checks? First timers that's who! My 74 318 Dart costs me almost as much as a 71 340 challenger totally done and it still has to be painted! And sweat...

    mismatched non seqeuntial turbo?

so it is pretty similar, but you would think that only having one path of flow would create a lot of back pressure, I suppose that's why the waste gate is actuated by the smaller turbo? They have it a little easier since they can rout it all off one exhaust manifold. Imagine the piping if they...

    mismatched non seqeuntial turbo?

So no one knows, is interested, has tried? Where are my boost experts to tell me I can't do it with two garrets and a bunch of pipe? Cus I'm telling you right now I'm going for it unless someone talks some sense into me and I have no clue what I'm doing!!:toothy10: Can someone at least tell me...

    mismatched non seqeuntial turbo?

33 psi, now that's a well built system. Hard to tell but it looks like it's done the same way, except it appears to be sequential and just a tad bigger, the cold side looks like a 4" header, gives me a headache trying to figure out where all the pipes go. interested in the waste-gate connection...
