Leaking Antifreeze from Head to Exhaust Manifolds

So I had been getting my 67 valiant ready for a 6hr road trip, thought I had it all ready to go. Drive it to work and back as a test drive, when I notice the rear drivers side exhaust manifold bolt is bubbling. Seeing that I just rebuilt the engine, I thought this bolt may have shook loose...

    Steering Wheel Part Numbers

I've been told that the number I first gave, 2883419 is the casting number, 4007*** is the part number and color code. I have to check my wheel again, I remember seeing another number, but just assumed it was the color code, not the part number. Maybe this helps some people?

    Steering Wheel Part Numbers

I have an old steering wheel that is in need of a restoration, P/N 2883419. I have noticed online that Mopar has a reproduction wheel that looks similar, P5153385. Are these the same wheel? From the photos they look the same, but it is hard to tell. Anyone buy one of these reproduction...

    axle housing ends - Damaged

Hi all, I am putting together my rear axle after changing the axle shaft bearings and seals. I am about to install the axles and inner seals but noticed some very minor damage on the bearing seating area of the passenger side axle housing end. Can I take a hone and just smooth out the ridges...

    Rear axle/brake Q's?

The axles don't have any signs of the holes being rewelded though.... It looks like the stud holes are all original and there is no visual signs of the old holes being welded up... Oh well, whatever it is, I guess I just have to put the axles back in, set the end play and drive!

    Rear axle/brake Q's?

I measured up my axles and drums I got 2.25" ID on the drum, Stand off distance about 2" Brake pad width 1.75"

    Rear axle/brake Q's?

The drums are dual drilled but the axles are not. The axles look factory BBP, there is only one set of stud holes. Must have modified some longer axle shafts. I will try to remember to take pictures tonight. The drums have flares. This is why I am so confused about what is happening on...

68 style valiant Window Trim Clips

Hi, I am converting my 67 valiant from the old lockstrip window gaskets to the 68 style gasket with SS trim. I will have to drill holes and install the clips. Just wondering if anyone had a pattern for the new clips for both the front and rear windows. I know Mopar Muscle Magazine did this for...

    Rear axle/brake Q's?

Just checked the axle length is the stock A body length 27 11/16". You are probably right about the not having the end play adjusted properly. That still doesn't tell me what is going on with the brakes though. From all the other posts on BBP axle swaps the 2.5 wide brakes are required, I will...

    Rear axle/brake Q's?

An additional note, with the SBP 10x1.75" drums drilled to BBP, I am changing the bearings because of the huge axle end play. If I change the bearings without changing to the bigger brakes, am I gonna have the same end play issue?

    Rear axle/brake Q's?

I have a 67 valiant, with 8 3/4" rear that was installed by the guy I bought it from. He had completed a BBP axle swap. But I don't know the details on how he did it, (new axles, modified axles). Because he still has the SBP brake drums, just redrilled to BBP. Can someone please provide the...

    LED Dash Light

Could you post a summary of what bulbs you used? I noticed on superbrightleds.com there are about a million different options for each light type. Also to clarify, each LED also required a screw in connector for the dash connection? The factory connectors would not work? Thanks! Todd

    slip yoke worn?

So I got the axles out of my 8.75, and it definately seemed that it was the axle bearings with incorrect preload causing the noise in my rear axle assembly. I ran the car with the axles out to see if the diff made any noise. Nice and quiet, however a bit of a vibration seemingly from the drive...

    axle play

So I got the axles out, and it definately seems that it is the axle bearings with incorrect preload causing the excessive rotational play. I ran the car with the axles out to see if the diff made any noise. Nice and quiet, however a bit of a vibration seemingly from the drive shaft. I...

    axle play

This is an open diff. The bearing preload (end play) is VERY poorly set There is probably 0.080-0.100" play, that was one of the reasons I heard strange pulsing noises as the wheels turn. I think as a precaution I am going to pull the center section and inspect. If nothing else, it will be a...

    axle play

I am just about to remove my axles to change the bearings on my 8.75, but before I pulled the axles, I noticed the end play on the passenger side was excessive. At the same time, I can rotate the passenger axle slightly(driver's wheel is still on the ground) by hand and it is very loose and...

Leaf Springs - Hotchkis vs XHD

Called Laura at ESPO, they are even cheaper than the Hotchkis from Classic Performance. Probably will go with the XHD from them with stock arch. Anyone have a photo of a 67-69 valiant with xhd leafs? I want to get an idea of the stance. here is what it looks like now! :newb:

Leaf Springs - Hotchkis vs XHD

I am looking to swap my sagging factory leafs in my 67 valiant. I currently only have 22" between the ground and the bottom lip of my fender well when running 225/60R14 wheels. Just wondering what people think is a better choice for a daily driver. I can get a set of Hotchkis for almost $100...

    Rear Axle/Diff Noise?

I've finally started rolling my project car and as I drive I am getting a pulsing "whurr" that can be matched to wheel speed. Before I tear the whole rear axle assembly and diff apart, I want to try pin point the problem. If it is the center section or the wheel bearings. While driving the...
