    Covid meds

I have a belief that, they look at your insurance, they know what you need but they'll charge "a la carte" against your insurance for everything covered before they actually perform the procedure that is actually needed. I cant prove it but...I see what people go through at a doctors office...

    The “Ugly Torquer” intake

PBR, what's your overall opinion of Torquer? they get a bad rep but I also figure its early technology. As I understand it though they were a low rise single plane designed to fit under a hood of a street car.

How much would you spend on it?

Yeah I've seen mid 70s 4 doors for 7 7500 in good shape but, its a 4 door. And yes different part of the country cars rust out here and you don't see old stuff much except in the summer on cruise nights.. old cars arent a way of life they arent daily drivers. An example of old here is maybe a...

Note about parts store rebuilt carbs

I know a older fella who likes em. I was reading the best thing is snag the throttle base off the chinese carb and put your rebuilt BBD top on it as the throttle shaft bore wear is what gets ya with a BBD... the vacuum leaks.

How much would you spend on it?

A bodies believe it or not there was a time no one wanted them either. There will be a market for C bodies people who don't race and just want to cruise an old V8 car. It may not be a top dollar market but like said right now 15 grand is probably right for a good driving quality car. I know you...

How much would you spend on it?

I think its changing though yeah 20 -30 years ago c bodies weren't wanted but now?... I work with a guy who occasionally drives his 68 Polara in and its a 383 car a huge boat to me but he loves it. it isn't junk either some of these big cars were taken care of garage kept etc. The mindset that...

How much would you spend on it?

Yeah I mean you aren't getting them at 1990s prices any more not in my area at least. People saying 1000 and 1200 to me thats rediculous but for a rotted hull with a title? maybe...you know there was a time theyd pay you to haul a rotted hull off their property :)

Signs you're getting old for Classic Car Owners

Well if you can for example spend 4 or 5 hours in the garage block sanding and your body doesn't ache too bad you're lucky, for me I don't feel it till hours later. I realize i may be out of shape too though. I mean I can still do it it hurts more than 30 years ago LOL I also don't do much...

    340 has no timing tab...

Got to have the right damper for that timing cover for example the early damper has marks at 10 oclock later at 1 or 2 oclock. but you could find tdc and put a timing tape on.

    340 X Head Value

I agree with this. My machinist told me "If you aren't hard running it daily you'll be ok without hardened seats " But you are right it seems to be an old topic not heard much of lately and its brought up here to discount the value of the X heads. They hold their value as do the j's If they...

How do you ensure that the gasoline that you purchase is the best quality?

I "Huff it" if it gives me a good buzz with no headache...nah just kidding...
  27. Dartswinger70

    340 X Head Value

Hardened seats is a haggle point I suppose It doesn't mean the heads are worthless. It really comes down to how many miles you'd put on the car if its daily driven get the hardened seats if its a 2 thousand mile a year car show summer car you'd probably get away with not having them installed...

How much would you spend on it?

If its solid with no rot its restorable... 3-5 grand and it would be a cruiser. Fully restored its a 12- 15 thousand dollar car in the real world. Yes people pay it check out Maple Motors and similar car lots. Now I'm not saying you wouldn't spend that in restoring it though but really... if...

Signs you're getting old for Classic Car Owners

A friend of mine bought a ratty 68 Impala ss I said " it will take you forever to do the body" hes like Ill leave it as a rat rod" I said "youll get tired of looking at it like that..." he just turned 60. I think I would at least DA it cut out and fix rust and shoot a good primer on it. And...
