Thanks man, I really appreciate the offer. My problem is time. Everytime I start a project on the car, namely disc brake conversion. I need to borrow a car to get to work. I've worn out my welcome borrowing friends vehicles. I don't think they ever want to hear the phrase "I'm thinking about...

I found this on ebay. I 'm probably not going to buy it, but if anyone needs one he/she has two.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HOLLEY-ECONOMASTER-CARBURETOR-CHRYSLER-DODGE-318-2BBL-/320562136161?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4aa2fe0461

I knew that would be the first response. "Switch to the 2 /14 exhaust". Maybe I will keep starter fluid around & a spray bottle. If my face catches on fire and start to melt, I'll have water on hand to put the fire out. I'm thinking about just getting a carb that needs to be rebuilt (either...

Yup, Reman. I should have known better, but my 1920 reman worked fine. I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend. Are the remans worth rebuilding? Any links to a reputable carb website? Webber fans?

What kind of difference did it make for you? I'm reluctant to keep throwing $$$ into a commuter with less than desireable results. If it made a difference for you or anyone else I would consider it.

I was getting around 18, now I would say it's closer to 15. I haven't noticed a leak. everything is pretty solid and tight.

Set it up on my 72, 225. New manifold, Carter BBD, Correct linkge (not a kit) and air cleaner (not stock) but it works. I'm getting worse gas mileage than I had before. I set it up correctly, but I'm wondering if I missed anything??? 4 1/4 turns off the air mix on the carb Linkage is...

    new tires=bad gas mileage

Why is it important to check my odometer? My commute to work is 27.2 miles on google maps, and from door to door in the dart it's 27.2 miles. Regardless of what tire size was on the vehicle it was always 27.2.

    Any Results?

I have a 72 225 1bbl daily driver. I also have the complete for a super 6 2bbl that I may install to get better gas mileage for my commute. I have read that this will increase my mileage, but I have not seen any posted results. I was wondering if anyone has any results from their own conversion?

    new tires=bad gas mileage

Update: I returned the tires, and put some michelin 205/70/14's on. I'm back to my average of 18mpg, up from 16mpg.

    new tires=bad gas mileage

I have 30 days to try out the tires, if I don't like them I can exchange. What made me go with that tire size? Lots of tread for commuting 60 miles round trip in New England>

    new tires=bad gas mileage

Mileage is exact. Looks like I'll be returning these tires that look great on my car, but horrible in my wallet

    new tires=bad gas mileage

Yes. I do have to push down harder on the gas to get the same results I used to. And you're right LESS miles on the odometer.

    new tires=bad gas mileage

@ 95teetee: You may be right, I will monitor it tonight on my commute. It's 28mi, if my speedo says something closer to 30 you may be on to something. @Burntorange70: How would I clean/check the bead at this point?

    new tires=bad gas mileage

I haven't checked yet. It's only been a few days since I got them. I assume they are at the correct pressure since they were just installed.

    new tires=bad gas mileage

I'm pretty much just going with the same flow of traffic that I always do. The drag is the main issue. It just doesn't glide the way it used to. I'm just surprised that I lost 30 miles on a full 14 gallon tank.

    new tires=bad gas mileage

I have a /6 72 4 door Dart. I went from 195/70/14 cheapo tires, to 225/70/14 decent tread tires. I figured I would loose a little in gas mileage, but I've lost 2 miles to the gallon, with alot of drag when the car should be coasting. I'm 90% sure the tires will be returned, but I was just...

    no brake pressure

Update: The problem lied within the calipers upside down. Bleeder on the top. Also I did not put a new booster on. The dart is now manual disc and it stops with minimal pressure. I did not have to swap out the proportioning valve, and it works great.

    no brake pressure

    Yes. Disc master cylinder.

    no brake pressure

I may have put the calipers on wrong. From what I've read the bleeder needs to be on top. The way I have it set up the bleeder is on the lower side. Could this be a problem?

    no brake pressure

Hello, I'm in the process of swapping out my 72 Dart 9" drums, with a disk kit from a 73 swinger. I went to town on it replacing just about everything (upper control, tie rods, idler arm, etc.) After bleeding the brakes many times the pedal still goes right to the floor. Has this happened to...

    compatibility

Hello All, I have a 1972 A-body Dart Custom with manual 9" drum brakes. I came across someone selling a complete power brake set up from a 67-71 Valiant A-body. The kit includes, master cylinder, calipers, spindle, contol arms, etc. My question is: Would this kit be compatible with my car...
