    800cfm spread bore thermoquad compatibility?

I scored an older 800cfm aftermarket thermoquad spreadbore manual trans carb. I want to put it on my 383 with new Eddie heads and Eddie rpm performer intake. Do I need an adapter spacer to fit on the manifold?

Rhoads hyd flat tappet lifters setup confused?

My cam in my 383 engine right now is the old Mopar purple cam? 284/484. Maybe it will help somewhat. I always thought the cam though not ground breaking was a good solid hp and torque producer.

Rhoads hyd flat tappet lifters setup confused?

Rusty what are you talking about? I’m going to follow the instructions by Rhoads which says I don’t have to pump up or preload with oil before installation. That’s basically what you said isn’t it? You don’t have to pre-fill or soak them before installation. Now I understand why. I’m taking...

New clutch installed and bad wheel hop?

Along with all the advice given to check and or correct the wheel hop issues which I thank you all for I’m hearing loud and clear if the mopar is wheel hoping something is not correct.

Rhoads hyd flat tappet lifters setup confused?

I’m replacing my standard hyd mopar flat tappet lifters in my 383 with rhoads hyd flat tappet lifters. The installation directions are confusing to me at one point. It states to set them up by determining when the pushrods just start to compress down ever so slightly on the cup within the...

New clutch installed and bad wheel hop?

I’m using the factory big block cast iron bell housing. Shouldn’t that be adequate with an approx 450 horse engine? I’m not actively racing the car. It’s more of a street sometimes strip car.

New clutch installed and bad wheel hop?

Yellow rose just an expression. I should rephrase that as dumping the clutch and it grabbing solid and assuming the tires aren’t drag radials but street tires my experience has been tire spin but not damage to drive train at least with a healthy 8 3/4.

New clutch installed and bad wheel hop?

So re-adjust the clutch linkage so that the clutch grabs farther down? Is the thinking if there is more travel to engage and release the clutch then it’s easier to let it out without having it grab too harshly? My only concern is that in my previous cars if things were set up correct there...

Brought Dart to shop to fix idling issue and car runs like s**t!

Thank you everyone for all the input and info. Yes I’ll look into having a leak down and compression test done because that will give me affirmation that I have good cylinder pressure and that the valves are opening and closing properly. I’ll also keep everyone updated on the outcome of this...

Brought Dart to shop to fix idling issue and car runs like s**t!

I wanted to answer a couple of questions that were brought up. There is no choke on my speed demon carb. Therefore you have to feather the throttle for a few minutes until the car warms up then idle should be stable. Second I did have a vacuum leak when I re-assembled the engine. That was...

Brought Dart to shop to fix idling issue and car runs like s**t!

Yes I agree everyone start with the basics and move from there. I think the first thing is to get the new rhoades lifters put in, check pushrod length(I have several lengths). I’ll use the one that is at zero lash at the middle of the adjustment setting in the rockers. Right now the pushrods...

New clutch installed and bad wheel hop?

The clutch grabs about an inch from the top but can be adjusted to engage farther down not an issue. I think the first thing I should do is get the pinion angle correct. I don’t know if it is in between 5-7%. Then yes the front spring eye perch’s as well as the back of the springs are...

New clutch installed and bad wheel hop?

Thanks Rmoore I hope the issue is that simple. How do you change/adjust pinion angle and how do I properly measure it?

New clutch installed and bad wheel hop?

Well I thought better throttle response less spinning weight. Maybe overkill.

Brought Dart to shop to fix idling issue and car runs like s**t!

Yup Rusty same shop that did my clutch work. I know this place hasn’t started on a high note. I believe they rechecked my rocker adjustments which could be hard to do if several of the lifters are shot. The ede heads were gone through by a mopar machine shop I have used and trusted they...

New clutch installed and bad wheel hop?

It seems this clutch wheel hop issue has been a problem for a long time and I just though that the dart clutch being trashed was the reason.

New clutch installed and bad wheel hop?

Yes the car has the small factory non adjustable pinion snubber on it and there are front clamps on both leaves that I think are factory. My other car my Barracuda has the same engine a 383, same leave springs and the basic factory clutch setup and doesn’t wheel hop at all? Could it all be...

Brought Dart to shop to fix idling issue and car runs like s**t!

I’ll explain a little background on this situation so that it is easier to diagnosis my possible issue. First let me again thank all of you that have helped me within the last year while I was tackling a lot of suspension and engine work on my 67 dart. I have learned quite a bit from all of...

New clutch installed and bad wheel hop?

So I brought the dart to a reputable restoration shop near me in CT to have some work done on my 67 Dart. I was trying to do most of not all the work on the car by myself and was learning quite a bit and accomplishing a lot. The problem is that I’m in the process of building a 3 car garage...

[WANTED] Original BB engine spark plug wire looms/spacers.

1967 B engine in my 67 GTS. I don’t know if some of the plug wire looms would be the same but I’ll try to work with a common 67 B engine setup.

[WANTED] Original BB engine spark plug wire looms/spacers.

Looking for original bolts and washers and ignition wire looms etc. Engine is a 383. I think that many bolts from most v8’s may interchange. Wanted in nice shape nothing bent or stripped. Most importantly looking for head bolts, intake bolts, water pump bolts, alternator brackets, spacers...

CO from running Dart in garage with door open

You can buy carbon monoxide plug in wall units from Home Depot for $15 a piece. Just plug them in at an outlet at the back of the garage. They will go off if levels are too high.

Source for correct looking upper lower radiator hoses 67 Dart?

Thanks for all the feedback. Great suggestion on stainless wire. Yes I have the original BB radiator but the radiator in 67 was different than 68-69. I believe the inlet and outlet on the radiator is positioned a little different so I’m wondering if the continental hoses will still fit correctly?

Source for correct looking upper lower radiator hoses 67 Dart?

I’m trying to find a good source for correct looking quality upper and lower radiator hoses for my 67 Dart? It is a factory 4 speed BB car. Would I be better off buying gates hoses or just what is available from parts Dept at Mopar dealership? I don’t care if the hose isn’t the correct part...
