The answer is......................... 8-32 phillips head machine screws. the smaller the head, the easier it is to align the fastener with the "j nut". the short one is ~ 1.5" the long one is ~ 2.25" YMMV depending on part alignment.

old thread but i just did this. I "splinted" with strips of thin metal, then JB welded as required. Don't forget to sand down the excess.

99% sure it is not a ground issue. Tach is probably grounded through instrument panel chassis and I ran an additional ground wire during reinstall, chassis to ground. cheers
