    [SOLD] 1972 Petty Blue Scamp

I have decided to sell my 72 scamp. I originally bought it to daily drive and I did daily drive it for a while. It is capable of long trips and runs extremely reliably. Before I bought it, it sat under a redwood tree for maybe 10 years. The first thing I did was strip off the vinyl top and...

Steam at the overflow hose below the radiator cap?

That's normal. After your shut down the motor , circulation stops and the pressure in the system rises. Keep the level about an inch below the neck and you'll be gtg. If you don't like it puking coolant then get a recovery bottle and correct type of cap.

Which cam will work decently with stock magnum tune?

I plan on doing everything in one shot. Surprisingly stock converter flashes to 2k and brake stalls to 2200. Truck is 3800 with nothing in it and 1/2 tank fuel. Plan to cut the runners down a couple inches and run vrp's in it.

Which cam will work decently with stock magnum tune?

Oh, I think it will do alot over the stock stick. When I stuck the smallest 114lsa cam in a customers 5.9 it really woke that sum ***** up, I tell you what. Night an day

Which cam will work decently with stock magnum tune?

Hmm. In that case I'll just plan on getting a syked tuner or buying the hp tuners for it and returning to stock tune every year just to pass the computer part This thing will barely get out of it's own way. They were barely drivable from the factory.

Which cam will work decently with stock magnum tune?

I guess I should have said what mild cam will barely work with the stock tune and be drivable by tweaking the crank sensor, fuel sync, and injector sizes.

Which cam will work decently with stock magnum tune?

I plan on long tubes, kegger mods, higher stall converter, shift kit, and 3.9ish gears and maybe slightly shorter tires. It's a single cab short bed 2wd street truck. The sensor is already slotted and fuel sync is at +3 iirc I agree, it's in the books but it won't happen for a few more years...

Which cam will work decently with stock magnum tune?

yeah, i was hoping to fool the computer enough by sliding the crank sensor over to bump initial timing by 4-6 degrees to help with the increased duration. I always check ptv clearance and I think ill get the hughes spring kit since ill need to do valve springs anyways. I could also just get a...

Which cam will work decently with stock magnum tune?

Looking to make a couple mods on my 01 ram with the 5.2 mag. Stupid California isn't letting non factory tunes anymore so anything too radical won't be considered. Was looking at a comp 20-746-9. I know its not an a body but this forum is the best Mopar resource I know of.

    Any F150 owners here? 2018-2021

Nope. But my next truck will be a 2.7 ecoboost. I have done some work on one for a customer. Put larger compressor housings and wheels, catless downpipes, full exhaust, larger ic, injectors, tune, etc. Puts down over 500 rwhp and massive tq. and still gets 22-24mpg cruising.... Can't beat that

They did. Just turn it 180 degrees on the y axis.

    Driving my son's Hellcat

I drive and work on all kinds of modern cars daily, from a honda fit all the way to 700hp modem muscle and performance bentleys and rolls. But at the end of the day, if I want to go for an enjoyable drive and have fun, I get into my rusted out 72 scamp with maybe a whole 75 slant six hp.

    390 cfm

Those are only about 300cfm on a good day. Fully ported with all the mods, people can get 450cfm out of em. I bet it would be very responsive on a slant six.

Mad Scientist Testing Carter AVS 4966S (short video)

Umm. Maybe not lied, but they did not use the industry standard of 20.4" of water column to flow the carbs. The secondaries are not unobstructed as you say. Maybe you are the one who doesn't know what the hell you are talking about. What's funny is instead of having a discussion you spout crap...

I always had the best luck modifying the factory pans than buying some cheap leaky thing.

Mad Scientist Testing Carter AVS 4966S (short video)

That's true, but it does have the spray bar in the way. The edelbrock booster is the same size as the bore diameter too. There's no way that carter flowed 625cfm with the venturi sizes. It was simply carter's odd way of flowing 4bbl. Maybe someone could flow a factory avs and a edelbrock 500avs.

Mad Scientist Testing Carter AVS 4966S (short video)

Yep. Compare the specs to edelbrock. Same as a 500 cfm one. Carter obviously used a higher water column to rate their carbs than standard 1.5". Maybe they used 3".

Mad Scientist Testing Carter AVS 4966S (short video)

I'm actually working on turning a 4966s into a blow through carb as we speak. It has the same venturi and throttle bore size as a 500cfm edelbrock. There is no way it's more than that.
