Remember the bowl too! I occasionally throw about 4 packets of kool-aid lemonade in the bowl and swirl it around. It's mildly acidic and will help clean the bowl out for roughly $1. This also works for the dishwasher.

How many pounds do extra long fasteners weigh? I'm guessing you could replace many of them with shorter and possibly lighter alternatives. I think the factory order nuts and bolts by the thousands of certain sizes at a discount, whether they were truly appropriate size or not.

Must have been a bad year for them! My 2004 ram has nothing left of the boots, but the ball joints are fine. Gonna replace them anyway cuz it's still the same amount of work. All this in spite of the fact I REALLY hate ball joint presses!

I had an annoying rattle in the dash of my '79 Chrysler Lebaron. Took the dash apart to put a real stereo in (this was the early '90's). I found a nice needle nose pliers stuck between two halves of the dash frame. It had to be there from the factory as it was pretty tough to remove.

My wife locked herself of the 2007 Mazda CX-7 we made the mistake of buying. She left for town n a VERY agitated state. Just for kicks, I went in the house and grabbed a key for the old brown truck (1972 f-100) . The truck key opened the door -no problem! Btw, don't EVER buy a Mazda CX-7!!!

That's even fewer years ago than I did mine, so my memory may be fuzzy! Oddly, I can remember doing it in my parents driveway, but not the exact method I used. I really had to dig deep in the memory banks!

You will still have a couple of holes that are visible when you remove the filler. I put little plugs in mine BEFORE painting the car . I simply drilled out the shocks and pushed the bumper back. I think a couple of self tapping screws secured it from there on
