    Imm’s Rhs Indy heads

How do you like running e85? I am collecting parts for a 440 small block with 360-1 heads and plan on using e85. Of course I am running up the compression to use the octane it has. Plus I can drive it on the street with it.

Help me build a fast 440!

If your worried about "using" the lifter then go Hughes. They have "real" chysler cams. I will not get into my opinion of all that and muddle the conversation. As far as the intake fitting your going to have to do some measuring as it willl change depending on where the engine is located/ what...

Help me build a fast 440!

Biggest issue is getting it to breath. Your limiting yourself by trying to keep it under the hood and the heads. And junk the cam. Purple shafts are good noise makers and thats about it. I had the same cam in my 340 and is was a dog. Went to Isky .507/300 solid and never looked back. Ran better...

    isky e4 cam lifters

I think I payed Manton 100.00 for mine custom made to the length I needed when I went solid lifter and its good insurance especially with 30 to 40 year old parts. Added benifit is the aditional strength over stock.

    Gear ratio recomendation

With what your trying to do 3.91s as they are a good street gear with performanve in mind. I ran this with my built 346/727 mostly street. 20 to 30 miles daily for a long time and around 18 mpg. New engine is getting 4.30s though lol. (Tunnel rammed 416, with 4 spd is the "plan")

    Rumor?

There was a real 68 Hemi Dart on the street in San Diego in the late 90's. Tubbed out with real Halibrand magnesium wheels. Not sure the history of it but I have a couple of engine bay pics of it at a friends shop. I believe it got sold or traded for a max wedge car, and from there who knows...

    isky e4 cam lifters

I have heard of different crowns on the lifter face but don't recall ever seeing them. I'm sure they would be fine but that would be the only thing affecting the compatibility with your cam. I used BB lifters from a solid MP cam I had laying around new with my Isky .510 solid in my small block...

QUESTION --- Re: PST Front Suspension Rebuild Kit

Probably not but you can always sell the small joint parts to someone with an early car.

QUESTION --- Re: PST Front Suspension Rebuild Kit

If I remember correctly the ball joints are not specific to PST and you can use any manufactures ball joints. See if your local parts house had Moog or any other quality brand parts as the newer large joints are fairly easy to obtain at a reasonable price and you will not have to wait till...

    Spring retainers and locks.

Call up Crower cams and tell them what you have. They will need to know the spring diameters (inner and outer, I.D, O.D's on both), valve diameter and the spring height. Also want to know cam specs. With this information they can match you up a retainer that would work for you. For that matter...

    Idle sound

Video by Paul Mendoza 11.1 340. M1 single plane with 850 dp. 3200 stall,3.91 gears. .510/300 solid isky cam. Pulls hard from 2nd on to about 7500.

Valve lash with a 528 solid.

The Isky .510 solid in my 340 is 16/20 iirc. (Been a while since I've adjusted them and the engine is in pieces.) Pretty quiet valve train other than the roller rockers humming along. Main thing is to not hang the valves open hot. Too much and the pushrod can pop out.

High-zinc oil or ZDDP oil additives?

I believe the Brad Penn oil is the old Kendall oil formulas. May be wrong but that's what I understood when it came about and Kendall changed. I was running straight 40 wt in my 340 with solid lifters. (San Diego weather) I'm all out of those cases of "old" Kendall and will be hunting for a new...

    Lash cap help needed

I don't know if adjustable push rods will solve the problem because your still on a fixed pivot. Its not like a chevy where the pivot is moveable/adjustable as far as height of center in relation to valve tip. Brand of rockers may affect this, depends on at what point in the rocker they make the...

American power train offers A body 6 speed manual

Tremec can handle the power but it's costly and the trans is bulky requiring the tunnel mods as you mentioned. I'd have a hard time hacking my tunnel up for that myself. Also, I stand corrected, the gto is a .57 final

American power train offers A body 6 speed manual

Aj, depends on what Tremec you use. There are other ratios than that in o.d. at least. My 04 GTO has a .64 or .67 final with a 3.4 rear end gear. (Same ratios and trans for that matter as same year Z06 btw.)

You wanted me to message you about the Offy 383 tunnelram for trade? It will be blasted before it's sent out. Also to only work done to it is the top and base were port matched to each other. Have a Weiand 340 tunnel ram in trade? Would like pics please. Can email me if it's easier...

Oil pump install with ARP main bolt?

Just haven't gotten that far yet. At least the block is lined honed with the studs!

Oil pump install with ARP main bolt?

Is this issue all ARP main stud kits or only the 6 point kits? I have the 12 point kit on mine. Ill probably have to cut the stud though which is no problem.

    PVC breathers on valve covers

And I may very well run into that problem. However what issues would running a tunnelram create with a pcv valve I wonder.....

    PVC breathers on valve covers

My experience..... I ran dual breathers on my 340. It always seeped oil out the breathers. The 416 I am going to build will be getting an evacuation kit to the headers. This way I can use the exhaust scavenging like a pcv system.

POLL: Which is your favorite carb(s) of choice?

Most prefer Holleys due to the fact that the tunability info is out there. The others take a bit of tinkering with em to get to work for your application. Any carb is a great carb when properly tuned. Holleys can be finicky at times. Especially with the needle and seats that can stick from...

    Low oil pressure

PSI is a direct relation to back pressure within the system. If the pressure is low the clearances are probably a bit more opened up than new. Not saying it's bad. As engines get more use they wear in the bearings and such. No biggie. Run the oil for your climate is one of the most important...

Long valves in a X head?

Hmmm, That may be a good option! of course by the time I by those plus the other valve train parts I may be in new head territory. Thanks for the link!

Long valves in a X head?

Mostly I'm worried about the cam which is why the long valves. I considered w2 long valves but there's a lot of valve train geometry issues in a std head.I was thinking about a .100 long valve with 1.6 rockers. It depends on where the change in the ratio is on the rocker though I think. May just...
