Dont have to spin it to 8k to make hp. Thats what big blocks are for.

I've seen plenty go past that, and have no issues on stock oil passages. Your experiences are not all accepted facts.

I really like 318s as well. Basically a smaller bore 340. I'd even say I like 318s MORE than 340s, but that's just because I'm weird haha.

That's one heck of a lie. Admit you are butthurt and biased, and move along.

Alot. Changing advance springs, changing wires, rotor, cap,etc...and on the oil situation, that is what a baffle is for. Weird how big blocks never really had oil starvation issues...at least not from people running the pan dry on long, high rpm, high speed pulls. At the end of the day, both are...

Gonna have to agree with aracer. Distributor in the front, and oil pump up front is far easier to work with imo.

I can get that. But if everything was the same, it would get boring. How does coolant get in the oil like that?

Jesus Christ dude, calm down. Those don't seem like big deals to me.

BIGBLOCK 68 DART CONVERSION 4 SPEED

When I used c body manifolds on my B motor with the stock clutch stuff, I think it cleared the z bar. I'm not 100% sure, so don't quote me haha. I think the c body manifolds are a different shape?

Nope, just stating an opinion, like yours. Nothing more. You seem pretty eager to start something.

I am a modern male, with a big block dart. Is talking crap and generalizing people normal on this forum? It would be nice to have some place that wasn't full of politics and ridiculous hot takes.

    400 builds-anybody?? NON STROKER!

I personally feel like my 400 has more than that dyno'd one. Looking up those cam numbers, my cam isn't too far off (maybe it is). I think that 950 carb hurt the power numbers personally. I would guess my 400 is making 370-375hp maybe. I know it's got a heck of alot more tq than 397ft lbs. Even...

    400 builds-anybody?? NON STROKER!

I know there's someone who did a stock comp stock stroke 400 build almost identical to mine, and they got 361hp and 397ft lbs. They used a street dominator single plane intake and a 950cfm carb though. I think a bigger cam would definetly wake these 400s up and put out some power. There is...

    New (sorta not really)

It's also in a tight, cramped area on jackstands.(hence the old pics) I'm having to modify some schumacher tri-y headers I absolutely BUTCHERED trying to make them fit a 4 speed. It was way back in like 2011, and I didn't know they had to be modded. I think I did an OK job.

I'll see what I can do. My old phone had tons of pictures, but died. I'm having to link from my instgram account to even be able to show some pics haha.

    400 builds-anybody?? NON STROKER!

I built a very mild 400 for my dart. Stock compression 73 400, worked 452 heads (bowls cleaned and other areas cleaned up), small Elgin cam (218/220 @.50, 444/466 lift, 112lsa), Weiand action plus dual plane intake, 1" spacer, and 750 street demon. It runs ok, but needs a better distributor BAD.

    New (sorta not really)

Hi all. I joined back in 2011, but never really did anything on this site but lurk. Now that my dart is coming along much better now, and that I just remembered this place (can't remember if I did an intro before or not) I've decided to Introduce myself. I've got a 1970 dart swinger with a 400...
